Am i being a prude?

enemyonpc (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 5th July 2007, 17:15

Me and the missus went to my daughters "Greased is the Word" school dance play type thing this afternoon, now this is primary school i`m talking about. My daughter is in year 1 and out they come and dance along to Rock and Roll is here to Stay, which was great and they looked like they had a ball. Next up was the year 2`s who danced and mimed along to Grease Lightening, which was the version from the film, unedited. Is it just me or does it seem quite wrong to have 7 year olds dancing and miming to a song that includes lyrics like Quote:
You know that aint no s***, we`ll be getting lots of tit

and
Quote:
You know that i aint bragging, she`s a real pussy wagon
.

The film is a PG so shouldn`t some kind of parental Consent been sought?

Am i just being an old prude? (25 by the way:))

Regards
Bryan

No, you`re not, there`s a reason it`s edited on TV and there`s no doubt the kids have listened to the song many times to learn the words.

I`d be writing a f***ing strogly worded letter to the Scholl Governers if I were you

Yeah... a bit much for infants` school kids isn`t it even if they don`t understand what they`re singing/miming.

Don`t forget "The chicks`ll cream for Greased Lightnin`." in the letter to the governors.

Your younger than the film & your complaining about things that were made before you were born? ;)

Paulll - Grease is a guilty pleasure of mine and my wife loves it, i just didn`t think it was right for it to be in a primary school production. Even Grease is the Word that was recently on ITV changed the lyrics.

I think I`ll definitely be writing a letter

Can you believe this is a C of E Primary School

Beleive me...they have no idea what they`re singing. It took my daughters years to twig. I think you`re over reacting...

To be honest my daughter is only 6 and there`s no way would she have twiged or even remotely understood but that`s really not the point. The film is rated PG which means parents have the right to choose if they`re child can watch it. There`s no way none of the teachers noticed the lyrics but they still took the PG choice away and IMO acted irresponsabily.

It would have been easy to change the words and thats what they should have done...

You know that I ain`t bragging, she`s a real tasty wagon...

You are supreme, the chicks will scream...

You know that it ain`t slow, the car has lots of go.

There....1 minutes work.....easy.
