RE: DTS or Dolby Digital
Basically DTS Dgital theatre sound as it is also known is in fact a better audio format as it uses less compression than its rival dolby digital therefore a better sound field and dynamic range is achieved to set up a dts 5.1 system you will need 5 speakers and a subwoofer for maximum enjoyment.
Player or disc fault?????????
I posted a message on this forum a few days ago and the replies i got were extremely vague and did not spell out what i really needed to know.
Basically i bought Gone in 60 seconds from play247 to find that it froze on me on the chapter where cage and jolie steal the lamboghini diablo.I own a pioneer 535 which i purchased from upgrade heaven it uses the excel sprinter mod which i think updates the software.I tried playing the disc on a friends machine and it was fine.It is not the layer transition that it freezes on but severalchapters before hand.
Any info on why it does this would be greatly appreciated.
Kenny
RE: Help needed urgently!!!!!!
The disc is multilayered and i know where the layer transition is due to the fact i played it on a friends machine.I find your point about the bad authoring of the disc very intreguing though .I will look into your suggestion jimbo of the micro thin circles causing this strange freezing problem
thanks once again kenny

RE: Help needed urgently!!!!!!
It is not freezing on the layer transition that is later on in the film its freezing in the middle of a chapter, and at a specific point every time thats why i suggested it was a disc fault i know the film does not use layer branching tecniques also.So it is nothing to do with the layer transition at all or layer branching for that matter so what exactly is it thats causing it to freeze
any ideas experts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RE: Help needed urgently!!!!!!
well tried it on a pioneer 525 asian model (region 3) with a multiregion upgrade and it works fine but still it could be the disc is still faulty right or is it my player after all????? As players do vary in the way they handle error correction and discs in general dont they!!!
as i say my player handles every single disc ive thrown at it, does anyone else have a pioneer 535 and managed to find this problem?
If anyone else can shed some light on this matter please do
Thanks Matt

Help needed urgently!!!!!!
I recently purchased Gone in sixty seconds on R1 from play247 to find that it froze on the seen where Nicholous Cage and Angelina Jolie steal the Lamborghini diablo whilst watching the other couple get it on.
I am using a Pioneer DV535 to play the dvd which i bought from Upgrade Heaven which uses the sprinter excel upgrade. The disc will play smoothly through the seen about 40% of the time although it doesnt solve the problem of the other 60% i can however scan forward a few frames and the disc resume normal play which is weird.I know it is NOT the layer transition and it happens in the middle of the chapter. The layer transition happens further on in the film
Do you think its a disc fault, player fault or could it be the multiregion upgrade cauing the problem ??????
Any reply will be greatly appreciated as im begining to get paronoid that it is a player fault, all my other disc work perfect including lots of titles which seem to have problems on other machines
