RE: The official Arsenal 10/11 Season Thread

No Gooners around today?
No one saying how it is a worthless cup?
Or how Arsenal are concentrating on the league/CL/FA Cup?

RE: Super cool Pac-man painting

Here`s a similar illusion you can make yourself very, very simply. It is a little dragon you can make from paper and if you close one eye and look at him his head will turn to follow you:

RE: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR thread - 2010/2011

When you concede two penalties and have a man sent off in the first 15 minutes it ain`t ever gonna end well.
At least we held them to nil-nil in the second half ;-)

RE: Green Hornet only available in 3D - they can sod right off

No, it is the loss of stereoscopic vision which results in your brain having a problem judging how far away an object is. The light that arrives at each eye gives a slightly different perspective on the object being viewed which is then used to judge distance.

This is why a lot of animals that hunt have their eyes at the front of their head to aid them in judging distances. Animals that tend to be preyed upon often have their eyes at the dies of their head giving them a far greater field of vision with which to spot predators.

Experience can overcome this to a certain extent so people with one eye are allowed to drive or become pirates. I also suspect it depends on whether one has always had just one eye or has lost the use of one in later life although which of those would be preferable I`m not sure about!

RE: Green Hornet only available in 3D - they can sod right off

KH, turn around from your desk (or wherever you are sitting), close one eye, turn back to your desk and try and put your finger pointing straight down vertically onto an object on your desk. It is very hard to do as you cannot perceive correctly the distance the object is from you. You can also try this by closing one eye, asking someone to stick a finger up (any finger ;-)) and you try and put your finger vertically down directly on to it.

went into richer sounds today... all their Blue-ray player with Multi-Region Dvd playback have been removed from sale, and they have been instructed they cannot sell any again? Appears the manufacturers are playing hardball if the firmware has been altered and it goes wrong they wont replace or mend the item?
Maybe you should`ve gone in when you were out of uniform?

RE: Scart to HDMI

You could connect the VHS?DVD player to the second SCART on the Sky box and it will do passthrough although not in RGB IIRC.

Have you checked all the ports are free from dust by vaccuuming them/using the power on-self clean options?
Just an idea.
Yeah it`s been hoovered and the power-on self clean isn`t available on the original 60 gigger unfortunately.

The noise is an issue when watching BDs at night when the kids are in bed. During the day it isn`t a problem.

My 60GB Phat PS3 is too noisy to use as a BD player unfortunately. My lad`s slim one is silent though.

It isn`t ordinary aerial coax you need a different one for sat stuff, but surely you know that, Doc?

Maybe this one will be a bit more interested in the sport than overloading the club with debt?

That Alex freekick was incredible!

When the opposition put a man in the wall, why not get someone to stand behind him so when he moves there isn`t a gaping hole?

RE: Annoying USB Hard Drive Problem

And you`ve tried a different USB port? Does it need external power? The port may not be pushing out enough juice.

Also, try a different cable in case the one you are using doesn`t go quite all the way in on the socket.

RE: Annoying USB Hard Drive Problem

On XP, I`ve seen it where a USB device has had its drive letter nicked by another device and Windows wasn`t smart enough to change it. The drive just disappears. In XP you could find it in drive manager and change the letters but I don`t know the equivalent in 7.
