RE: Just got my new player - SONY DVP-S735D
davie s... I`ve been using RGB exclusively with the 735 and FQ75, haven`t tried SV at all. From my limited tech knowledge RGB bypasses any NTSC / PAL issues and should deliver the best picture. I`m also using an Ixos 126AV scart to connect the two and the picture quality is awesome - even my g/f noticed, which is a result in itself :-)
After reading a lot of posts on the net about poor geometry on Sony sets I was prepared for a bit of a disappointment when it was up and running, but after a play of the THX setup on one of the Toy Story DVD`s and some minor adjustments to basic picture settings I`m more than happy.
One thing which amazed me is watching DVD`s I`d previously watched on an old Mitsubishi 25" and thought were great transfers suddenly look poor on the 32FQ75 - `The Big Lebowski` for example... although watching `Saving Private Ryan` before hand may have something to do with it.
RE: Just got my new player - SONY DVP-S735D
Second your comments both about MRM and the 735 as I got mine delivered today as well. No problems with any of my R1 / R2 discs so far and when I called MRM yesterday they answered all my questions and were extremely helpful.
Now all I`ve got to do is wait for my 32FQ75 coming on Saturday :-))))
RE: SOUND OUTPUT ON LG 3350E, CAN IT BE IMPROVED? please advise
Most, if not all, TV audio output, is compressed in some way which balances the lows with the highs. You`ll probably notice this more in commercial breaks where advertisers want to hammer their message home to you as loud as is legal.
This audio compression takes away from the dynamic range of the overall sound, whereas DVD tends not to do this and you get the maximum effect of the original soundrtack as intended, like when dialog should be heard as a whisper and an explosion should rock the ornaments :-)
RE: LG3350e owners esp. Ittroll
I`ve no experience of the LG machine but would suggest taking it back anyway if you`re at all in doubt especially if you only have a limited time to make a decision.
RE: Experience of LeConcepts?
Very positive comments about them can be found at...

No personal experience of dealing with them though.
RE: 32
The cheapest price I`ve seen for the 32FX65 in the UK is £1150 excuding delivery!
Just another example of us UK residents getting utterley screwed by anyone and everyone... maybe next time when we go to the checkouts we should drop our trousers and touch our toes while emptying our wallets.
RE: 32
>Sony KV-32FX65 (about £770)
>Panasonic 32PK20F (about £850)
>Philips 8806 (about £1000)
Where are you getting your prices from?
RE: Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
Once you`ve finished Tricky....
I was looking at the FX75 this afternoon and tried out the picture in picture mode - the one where it shows two channels then zooms in on whatever you select. I`d read online somewhere it was really smooth but everytime I tried it would zoom to full screen then go blank for a second before appearing again. Is that normal operation?
The thing that puts me off the FX75 is the stand that comes with it. Shallow I know but...

RE: Anybody know where to buy an LG3350e?
Try www.bighut.co.uk - they`re advertised at £214 but I don`t know about stock levels.
RE: Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
That`s exactly the reason I decided on the 735 rather than some machine around £200-300. Looking through these forums there`s rarely any posts about problems with Sony [except for the constant `Is there a region hack` questions.
Now all I have to do is decide what my new TV should be - 32" Sony FX65 or FQ75 or should I be looking at Panasonic TAU?
RE: Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
Just what I wanted to hear - I`m sure I wont be disappointed.
Cheers all.
RE: Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
Thanks Iain
Does the MMM modification work with RCE discs?
If yes I`ll be placing my order asap :)
RE: Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
Finally got through on the phone...
The modification is auto switching
Couldn`t confirm RCE
Also no stock possibly for 3-4 weeks [Glasgow]
So anyone got suggestions for another supplier?
Sony 735 @ Richer Sounds?
Anyone bought the Sony 735 from Richer Sounds and can answer these questions?
Is the modification auto or manual switching?
Can it handle RCE protected discs?
Many thanks
