RE: Wallace & Gromit

I got my two week Christmas Telly guide and circling off what to tape during the festive season, Wallace and Gromit is a definite, followed by Doctor Who, plus a few films I have never seen.

PS......Just saw the new 'Death in Paradise Xmas special' tonight, the new detective seems good at the part and possibly settling in. Dwain and his dad are a laugh a minute, a brilliant double act, Will be watching for the new series in 2025.

RE: [VIDEO] Asterix and Obelix: The Big Fight

There is live actor films of Asterix (English dubbed), as I remember one that gave me quite a chuckle about Asterix and pals arriving at the Roman arena and being in the games and outwitting the Romans :D

[VIDEO] RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance

This could be the number one song for Christmas and giving PM Starmer a red face, assuming he is possible of being embarrassed.

RE: Cloud storage

One drive, but i think you only get 5GB free data but may be wrong, but thats enough for me.

[VIDEO] RE:The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Wokeism at the BBC, surely not LOL.....

RE: [VIDEO] Brexit

Alfie Noakes says "The car manufacturers actually piping up now. The subtext of which is that they are out of here unless they get EU concessions. Doesn't help that we are not on course to build the battery factories that we need either."

What has happened now with electric cars, is stalemate, ie, those that wanted one have now got one, and those that do not want them, will not buy them (assuming they can afford one).

So the Labour party are now going to get rid of the carrot incentives and hit you with the stick instead, by putting petrol and diesel car road tax up double what you are paying now. Even the cheapest small engined car will go up a lot, and likely increasing yearly, trying to force us onto very expensive, range anxiety electric cars.

[VIDEO] RE:Phil Collins: Drummer

The man is an animal when it comes to the drums.
Singer or drummer, pure genius!

RE: 28 Years Later

The stupid thing about zombies is that you can out walk them. Even my granny can outzimmer them LOL.

Only zombie movie I have watched where the zombies do move fast is the Korean zombie train film..... 'Train to Busan'

RE: Audiophile Carrots

Google AI suggests that electrical conductivity below 0.1 S/m (Siemens per meter) is possible for some materials, such as potatoes, carrots, and apples.

So maybe the music label 'Apple' knew all about this :D

RE: LG OLED65C16LA - Repair or not...

I am more of a 'throw away society' guy if something packs in, (it usually costs more to get a repair guy in plus cost of repair parts than just buy new again) But if a piece of technology still works I just keep a hold of it and that's why I still have my VHS recorder gathering dust LOL

I have a 50" non-smart plasma TV in the living room that still works perfectly 10 years on, and waiting for it to pack in before I get a smart TV and can start streaming TV as I now have fast fibre internet.

RE: [VIDEO] The Rig (Amazon)

When you apply for a job you should ask is their any devious company plans that you are not telling me about :D

RE: Mr Bates vs The Post Office

Now available on DVD, and for just under a tenner, I got mine coming from  Ebay for my Christmas present.

One of the best dramas made this year representing a real life tragedy which make's the public aware of Post Office Masters/Mistresses predicament's.

RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance

Well you do not always get what you wish for and it seems a lot of people are wishing they never voted Labour in, as there is now a petition for another General election which has reached two million votes.

Rather meaning less as Starmer now has five years to destroy the country.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

If I remember thats the story where soldiers from history are transported to the battlefield for one big fight. correct?

RE: Google forced to sell Chrome to end search monopoly

"You do know that Micro$oft will stop supporting Win 10 in under a year?"

Yeh, it does not bother me, will be glad of not getting those tiresome updates that take ages to load and slow my machine down.

last update was AI copilot in the background and it caused my machine to slow down so much I uninstalled AI copilot.

I just do not fancy win 11 at the moment.

RE: Google forced to sell Chrome to end search monopoly

A lot of us like me like Chrome with google search, as we are used to it, and just stick with it.

I recently moved onto win10 and they are pushing down our throats Microsoft edge which is built in on the toolbar, which I am not a fan of. So I have set everything back to chrome and google, even though I know google watches everything you browse. Maybe this is why my number of tracking cookies has increased by a large factor under win10 compared with previous win7, and have to delete them each week with a cookie cruncher program.

RE: [VIDEO] The Return of Captain Kirk

I was a bit confused wither this was in the Spock genesis planet or in the 'beyond time' cloud that Kirk was trapped in for a while, where both locations were beyond time and death. But...

It does not really matter, as just looking at this video was like looking at old friends, it seems crazy that a si-fi fictional show like the original Star Trek can make the characters so real and full of emotion, as to create memories just like part of our real lives. Weird but thanks for the video. Just a pity there was no talking involved, but I suppose it did not need it.

RE: Post Trump fallout

While Trump says he can end the Russian/Ukraine war in a day, Biden has put his oar in by now giving Ukraine the green light to use long range missiles into Russia. Why give this order so near to the end of his presidency when it was not allowed before, I wonder?

RE: [VIDEO] Secret Santa 2024

Because of the cost of Christmas presents when we get a few of our families gathering, we now do Secret Santa.

RE: [VIDEO] Music by John Williams

Star wars IV theme still gets chills up my back when its played and beams me be back to the cinema opening in the late 70's.

RE: [VIDEO] Post Trump fallout

Well Trump is back in again, and likely his first move with be to pardon himself from a prison sentence lol.

As a Brit the big worry is not what Trump will get up to on his own country, but instead the worry of a world with two hellish wars going on that could easily escalate into WW3.

At least if  WW3 happens then as compensation we do not have to worry about Starmer introducing yet more taxes to hit everyone, as everyone will be dead :D

RE: What strategies can drivers use to rebuild their auto insurance history after a lapse in coverag

Your right Jitendar Canth, I don't want auto insurance as I have a manual stick.

RE: Don`t forget the clocks go back Saturday night!!!!

Thanks admars, as I have a dentist appointment on Monday 10AM.

The last time I missed an appointment they charged me £60 for not turning up. So i better not miss this one. They added these charges in the small print this year, so you better check your own dentist to see if these sneaky charges have been added if you do not turn up.

RE: [VIDEO] Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Don't worry about what's on at Christmas, just pass the cheese and crackers :D

RE: [VIDEO] Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Argh, the chicken is back :D

By the way Wallace's famous voice is now well played by Ben Whitehead, since the death of Peter Sallis in 2017.

RE: Wes Anderson film 'The French Despatch' on 9th Oct

Well it took me three days to get through this film. Bit by bit. Good job I taped it.

For a Wes Anderson film it was not that bad, but there again not that good, sort of so so. I was going to pack it in until 'the nude prison woman being painted' scene peaked my interest, then continued on with it to the end LOL.

My conclusion is that I ain't buying any Wes Anderson film again like I did with Asteroid city, and will just wait to see it for free, even if its years later.

RE: [VIDEO] In Flight

They should have called it 'I don't remember boarding the plane'. That would have helped :D

That's why I like films with titles that tells you what's it about, like 'Snakes on a Plane' as it has...snakes on a plane LOL.

Wes Anderson film 'The French Despatch' on 9th Oct

On at 9PM on Film 4 and will likely be repeated this week as they do on Film 4. This film was made in 2021 and will watch it this week as have never seen it before.

You either love Wes Anderson films or not. The last one I paid for the DVD and watched was 'Asteroid city 2023' and it was kind of grim and handed it into charity shop, yet others like The Grand Budapest hotel 2014 are fantastic.

Story for this film according to write up is 'star-encrusted tribute to the New Yorker magazine and covers the final edition of a chaotic fictional publication, following the death of the paper's editor - played by Bill Murray'. We will see tomorrow if this film is good or not.

RE: Mr Bates vs The Post Office
