RE: Subtitles on/off Dansai 852

Your right they do come on now and again , but they are easily turned off and i can only say this is a small niggle on a descent player.

There are probs with most players one way or another , but at least it cost u less than a ton to find out!

Have fun

RE: Toshiba SD210E problems playing MP3 files (and VCD)

Your mp3 prob may be with thee bitrate they were encoded in , if some of your tracks were higher than 128kbps then you player might not recognise them.

I have the same problem on my crappy Himage player , if it cames across such tracks it either plays nothing at all or skips & stutters.

As fer your vcd`s this is down to the media used , mine is happy as larry with verb`s/samsung media but certain brands it just dont like. Also it could be down to the speed it were burnt in the first place.

Were all 3 films on the same type of media?

Dansai mp3 playback , what are the tracklistings like??

Just wondered what the menus are like when selecting the tracks.

Are you limited to 8 characters per track like some others or do you get the full title of the track playing?

Can anyone confirm it plays Stuart Little as my present dvd player won`t but it does work in my dvd drive on the pc.

RE: DVD Himage DVD2290 (Multi region)

Shaun / Royd

It plays DVD/VCD/MP3/CDR/CDRW/SVCD

I have tried all the above barring SVCD (anyone got any?)

Has no prob`s with all the above but does not like playing one of my vcd`s which has been burnt on Verbatim media ???

It`s also Macro Free

You get what you pay for

I`d say it`s good for the money

RE: For Everyone who plays Mp3s on their DVD Player

BOMB3R

When u are happy with what u got , u choose ur output path from the settings drop down menu (where u want to send all ur tunes etc).

Then from the File drop down menu choose compile and let it do its thing.

It will create folders for each cd u have compiled.

As for burning it back this is the grey area , i used Nero and burned it back as an ISO using mode1 and long filenames (but it did`nt work).

I think it is the firmware which dictates how it reads the disc , but feel free to have a go!

Let us know if u have any joy .

RE: For Everyone who plays Mp3s on their DVD Player

Had a bash at this , but no joy.

Used Nero to burn ISO file back to cd , but on playback NOWT!

It just play`s the track`s as normal (so no major loss there).

Tried angle button etc .. but does`nt make a difference.

I suspect it is down to the firmware unless anyone else has some joy with the internal burning software??

Test carried out on a Himage 2290 , (obviously can`t play everything you through at it !!)

RE: For Everyone who plays Mp3s on their DVD Player

Look`s like u have to use it to create ur own cd`s from scratch, and hope ur DVD player recognises the format and display`s it correctly on screen!

Anyone had a bash at this yet?

And how flexible is it??

Or does it just display a splash screen , without letting u select directories etc ??

RE: Budget DVD player for Newbie owner

Shaun

The conclusion you have come to is possibly the right one , as i received my Himage yesterday from Richer`s and are more than happy.

From the box it`s region free , play`s vcd/svcd/mp3 etc , etc

I have tried all of the above disc`s with no prob`s.

Plug and play to with no remote hack`s required (SC2000)

Also macro free , and it`s smaller than a playstation.

I dont usually buy dindi make`s but it does what it say`s on the tin!

Only downer is it not having scart connection.

RE: Pitch Black Unrated region 1.

Hmmmmm! Sorry guy`s i think you`ve gone overboard on this one.

Sound and Picture may be good , but as suspence/story goes it is dead in the water.

My kid`s found it boring although i managed to watch it through the once.

Not a patch on Alien/Aliens/The Thing true classics.

Willing to trade my Pitch Black Unrated region 1 if anybody wants it
