RE: Scan dvd

If you go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scan2000 you can find out all about Logix 3000 and download firmware .

I can tape region 1 discs no probs.

RE: Scan dvd

The Scan is also available at http://www.pless.co.uk/acatalog/pless_Dvd_7.html for £169 inclusive.

I would advide you to try and track down a Logix 3000 as this player is the same as the Scan except for one scart lead.

Asda was selling them for £129 with a 3 year warranty,any problems you can return it no probs. Get a problem with a Scan and prepare for a large phone bill no returned phone calls, the worst customer service anyone could wish to encounter.

Must say that this player is good ,and can be made macrovision free as well.

RE: a good cheap! dvd player, for me anyway

What`s the difference between the Scan and the Logix 3000?

Remember that Asda are selling them for £129 including a warranty for 3 years!! and if anything does go wrong you can take it back for a full refund.

If anything goes wrong with the Scan you could return it and wait 3 weeks for them to find it ,spend hours on the phone with no joy ,and loose your hair!!!!

It`s up to you.

RE: SC2000 DVD NOT PLAY R1 SNATCH

If you upgrade the Scan`s firmware to version 2.33 or above ,you will not get this problem with RCE disks.

RE: a good cheap! dvd player, for me anyway

Yes it does.

If you got this player I would go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scan2000 for lots of information on this player.

RE: Scan!!

RE: Logix DVD3000 can it be set to individual regions

Do you know the firmware version?

Best bet is to try

Region Code Changing

To change the region code power on the DVD Player and press:

OPEN, SETUP, x, 2, 0, 1, 0, STEP, SHUFFLE, NEXT

Where x is the number of region you want to change to.

1 = Region 1 (USA)
2 = Region 2 (GB)
9 = Auto Select.

This sets the default Region number for when the player is powered on.

RE: MULTI REGION

What make is it? Have you tried a region hack?

Regards.

Paul.

RE: Does RCE affect Logix dvd3000??????

The answer is yes.

You should be able to select the region you want manually as this is the same machine as the Scan. Try this

Region Code Changing

To change the region code power on the DVD Player and press:

OPEN, SETUP, x, 2, 0, 1, 0, STEP, SHUFFLE, NEXT

Where x is the number of region you want to change to.

1 = Region 1 (USA)
2 = Region 2 (GB)
9 = Auto Select.

This sets the default Region number for when the player is powered on.

Scan Official Response

If you have downgraded to v 1.80 of the firmware and got a Write Fail message here`s Scan`s statement:

Dear Sir,

Scan`s Disclaimer states :

RESULTING IN THE USE OF FIRMWARE UPDATES.

In no event shall Scan International be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, incidental, direct, indirect, special or consequential damages,
damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use or inability to use this
Firmware update, even if Scan International have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This is our official disclaimer and we cannot be held responsible for any problems resulting in a failure of firmware updates carried out by yourself, this has been recently getting out of hand and customer have been abusing our policy.

If as a result of you altering the firmware on the player, you have directly caused problems with the machine, then, no action can be taken by Scan Computers as this invalidates your warranty.

Hope this clears things up for you.

Kind Regards

RE: Please help,logix3000 macro!!!

go to www.lgiu.com and check out the latest firmware.

RE: Has Nellie Left The Country?

Maybe we should not recommend this player to anyone, and maybe set up a web page for all to see. For all it`s errors I like some of the features but it a shame the problems that people are getting.

In my opinion the mark of a good company is it CS

One word to Scan and Nellie is PULL YOUR FINGERS OUT. Its customers that make and brake a company!!!

Regards.

Paul

Has Nellie Left The Country?

I have contacted Nellie about the recent problems with the Firmware downgrade/upgrade problem but to no avail.

Has anyone else contacted him lately about this problem? Any joy?

Regards.

RE: Please help,logix3000 macro!!!

To enable VCR Friendly Mode press:

SETUP, STEP, TITLE, PREV

There is also a Hidden VCR Friendly method which is enabled by installing firmware V1.80.
Then set up all options as you normally would. Next, enter the VCR Friendly Code above.

You must now play any DVD disc for a short time (about 30 seconds will do). Then install
the latest firmware, enter the VCR Friendly Code again and play any DVD for a shprt time.
Your VCR Friendly Status will show 00000003 in the System Status Window (see section 2.1)
but it will actually be enabled.

Try this but don`t change your firmware!!!!!!!

What firmware do you have at the moment?

By the way you won`t see any menu saying macrovision is disabled.

Try taping and see what happens.

Hope this is of some help.

Regards.

Paul
