Wharfedale 750 Information
Hi,
I thought I`d pass on some information regarding the wharfedale as there seems to be some confusion about it.
The 750 and the 750s can play multi-region disks out of the box. All you do is a simple remote "hack" and away you go.
RCE disks.....
The original 750 can`t play RCE disks. But the original 750 can play RCE disks. WHAT ! Has this man gone mad. Well... no. There are 3 versions of the 750 firmware (this is not talking about the 750s). The very first version of the firmware can`t play RCE disks. This is usually characterised by the absence of the little red led on the left and no DTS logo either. The other two versions of the firmware CAN play the RCE disks.
Now... This is the good bit. If you`ve got an original (v1 firmware) machine and you want to be able to play the RCE disks, go and get Jaws Region 2. Yep, region 2. Then, your player won`t be able to play it. Phone Tesco and tell them. An engineer will come and give you a nice shiny new firmware that will enable you to play Jaws (you have to show them the disk to get the upgrade). Then it will also play RCE disks.
Although you don`t need to tell the machine which region to use, it still manages to play the RCE disks fine.
Hope this helps someone.
Nick.

RE: List of releases
Thanks, but what I really want is one that I can use offline so I can build up a wish-list at my leisure. I`ve got a list of R1 dvds on my PDA, so while I`m out shopping I can compare any "bargains" I see that are R2. Thought it might be quite good to have the R2 to look at off-line.
I`m surprised that there are no companies that have their list downloadable (at the end of the day, they`ve already got it in a database so they can just dump it to a text file). That would be great to pick and choose what you want off line and then go on to order it.
Nick.
List of releases
Does anyone know where I can get a list of ALL R2 releases currently available ?
Cheers
