RE: Philips DVD 701

Sorry Dinger i must be thick! The only remote i have is the one that came with the unit. I can borrow though some of the universal remotes by Philips. Will these work? If so what codes do i put in?

Philips DVD 701

Can you advise me if the Philips DVD 701 can be hacked for region 1 & 2? Would you be kind enough to let me know how this is done? I live in Gibraltar (southern europe) and have a Philips DVD 701 but it only works on region 2 discs. By the way i only have the original remote that came with the unit, though i can borrow some of the Philips universal remotes, if these will work of course.
Thanks
Vince
