RE: Argos So-So Easter Sale (£0.00)
Well done Jon_C. But I was going to say the same thing!
That won`t stop me tho...
I recall when a Vodafone store opened in my little town. I went to check out their offers and was delighted to see a Nokia 5110 on pay as you go for £0.00. SO I went inside and asked for 2 for my girlfriend and I. The manageress (the only person in the store) quickly ran down what I got for my £49.99. Hang on, said I, it say £0.00 in the window. No it doesn`t she replied. I suggested she came outside and looked in the window, which she did. She then snorted walked into the store then straight out the back into the staff room and shut the door.
I waited a few minutes then left. Shame....
I asked my father about it, he`s a mobile phone retailer. He said it was an offer to buy but they didn`t have to sell me the products. Shame...
What was my point?....oh yeah....
I was wondering how we stop these r soles who all know `their rights` complaining bitterly because a company has realised it made an error and won`t compensate them for their `inconvenience`.
And, maybe a seperate section on the site detailing exactly what `rights` individuals have....

Canon Digital Camera advice wanted
I`ve been after a Digital Camera for quite a while and have narrowed it down to one of the Canon Digital Ixus ones.
Basically because they`re small, cute, well made, and seem to work well from reviews I`ve read.
Ive been offered my Uncle`s old Canon Ixus V for £150 including a 32mb card and leather case.
However, Argos have the Ixus v2 for £200 (although out of stock).I`ve found it for the same price at www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk Jessops have cases for £12+ and a 32mb compact flash is £12 (7dayshop.com)
The other half reckons I should buy the v2 because it`ll come with full warrenty, but I don`t normally listen to her. You guys though, I do...
1. Does anyone know the difference between the 2? The best I can find is the V has a bigger digital zoom (which I read somewhere is crap), the optical zoom is the same on both models.
2. Which should I buy? Im inclined to save £74+ and buy the V which gets me a better digital zoom . However in the back of my mind I think...warrenty. Has anyone had any problems with their Canon Ixus?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

RE: Missing Bonus Features
On my region 2 Fast and the Furious there is a huge list on the box of features that I can`t seem to find.
Maybe I`m mad but I`m sure they`re not on.
Cheap in car mp3/cd at Makro!
Anyone want an in car cd player that plays mp3s too?
Makro have a Goodmans GCE7340MP3 for £79.99 + VAT.
Much cheaper than the Argos price of £189.99

Any cheap deals on Sky?
Am moving home and currently have SKY Digital. Rather than bother to change it I was thinking of taking on a new subscription and cancel the old one.
Are there any decent deals out there (apart from £10 for installation)?
Also, there used to be a way of making sure you got a decent box (not an Amstrad) can you still do this?
Cheers

RE: I know, I know...yet another Book Of The Dead post but....
So is it worth buying the R1 version for the Woods documentary???

RE: Hooking everything up
Do they work with RGB?
Hooking everything up
I am using a Hitachi 24" Widescreen, Samsung DVD 511, PS2, Dreamcast and nasty Amstrad Sky Digibox
At the moment I just plug in what I want to use but........
The TV only has 2 scart sockets (1 is RGB) and I`m getting tired of changing scarts all the time....
Any ideas on how to hook it all up?
Do scart splitters work with RGB???
And more importantly, are they any good

Britannia music were doing an offer where you got the Godfather for £10 when you joined their crappy club.

2 for £16.99
Just been in Smiffs
they`re doing the MGM Special Edition DVDs for £16.99 and if you buy one you get a non special edition MGM DVD for free. Shame that there isn`t many decent non special edition ones.
I got Rocky with Antitrust for free.
Still, tis cheap....
Robocop
Yey, Robocop is out tomorrow.
Question is....
is it as good or better than the US version? It`s apparently the complete film, or so I`v eheard.
I`ve also heard about the criterion (spelling?) edition. What is it and do I want it rather than the UK version out tomorrow?
Hope someone knows...
I don`t have a clue
Transformers
Why have I waited 6 months for Transformers Region 2 on DVD from Play?
Apparently the delay was because they had `found the widescreen version` and were adding a commentary and loads of other stuff that wasn`t on the US version.
I can`t remember if I read the stuff on here or if Play actually said it was having a commentary and widescreen etc.
Why has the version I received today 4:3, without a commentary?
Can anyone shed some light please?
RR
Britannia
Can anyone suggest anything at Britannia I can buy to fulfil my membership terms?
I have to buy 4 more DVDs
Anything that isn`t stupidly marked up?
Gladiator for £24.99
Godfather for £59.99, I don`t think so.
Does buying video tapes count towards my total????
HELP!
RE: The Wicker Man
It`s a Hitatchi 24" widescreen (£380 in the shops) I notice the more expensive Hitachi has `NTSC compatability (or some rubbish like that).
Ive got a Samsung DVD511 and they`re connected by scart
The player is hackable by pressing lots of buttons...
Hope this helps...
The Wicker Man
Ive just found Region 1 versions of the Wicker Man. Play247 do them.
1 is a special 2 disc, one is `plain` one disc.
My player is multiregion however my TV doesn`t support NTSC, does this mean it`ll play in Black & White (I think I read that somewhere)
Also, does anyone know about a Region 2 version of the 2 disc set? I`d rather get that as I`ll know it`ll play...
R1 or R2 Superman
Which is better?
Can anyone comment?
My TV doesn`t support NTSC so Im kinda hoping the UK version will be the same as the US.
I see the Americans get a box set of all 4 films and we don`t...
:(
RE: Britannia - -look and it aint too bad
The bit on the website for cancelling reccommended recordings works, yey!
I forgot to say, I got 3 Bond films in the offer, Britannia pinched the tokens for getting free stuff from inside.
Is this company policy?
I emailed them and got a courtesy reply and some nonsense about you`ll get a real reply within a week, that was nearly a month ago.
lousy stinking no good...
American Pie
Hey!
I just bought American Pie cos it was cheap, but it`s not the `uncut` version with him humping the pie on the table or I preseume extra Nadia.
What the hell?
Is the other version in as an easter egg?
Or for once has the video version got the extra hand?
RE: Hey! R2 Transfomers DVD! Anybody know anything about that?
It`s ordered from Play.
Now Ive just gotta wait....
boo hoo.
RE: Terminator Special Edition
Oh my bad, there`s another Terminator post just below...oops.
Terminator Special Edition
According to What DVD, Sept 2001, page 24,
October 2nd, MGM are releasing a new special edition of The Terminator.
Apparenlty contains, long rumoured deleted scenes, directors commentary, documentary, retrospective interviews and DVD Rom features.
A 5.1 mix and the original Dolby mono.
OK...now Im confused, I got the 2 disc thingy over here, granted I haven`t had time to play with it much but are the Yanks getting ANOTHER version?
I thought the 2 disc one we got was already out in the states? Im mighty confused. I know the T2 Ultimate Edition is out, we don`t get it till October.
Are MGM just trying to extract more money from us?
Desperately Seeking...Someone who knows
RE: THE CROW - Widescreen ???
There`s also a VERY NICE Region 1 box set with all the films. Shame only 2 are worth watching but it`s a pretty box and they`ve got lots of extras.
