RE: Philips DVD 701

but surely all the One for All`s have a magic key. I have a One for all 4, with TV/VCR/SAT/AUX and a Magic button and have had no luck

Cracking a Philips 710 with the Palm 5x

I have tried to hack the Philips 710 using the Palm method. I`ve loaded the Omniremote software, the Omniphilips.pdb file.
I start up the Palm 5x, load the Remote application and I get the a screen displaying 1 button, dvd955 multizone.

And thats about it, is ther anything else thats need to to be done ? coz tapping that "multizone" button doesn`t seem to do a whole lot no matter how near or far I am from the DVD player

One more thing, (coz I need to understand the logic here) I thought the Omniremote software only worked if you trained it by teaching it from another remote> With the .pdb file, is that "training" no longer required ?

Any ideas ???? Greatly appreciated....!!!

Philips 710 Hack

2 questions

1) Does anyone know if the Philips hack (RC6) is dependant on firmware version. And if so, what firmware is required.

2) I have downloaded both versions of firmware (9.23 & 7.01). Do I just put these on a cdr and play them in the DVD player or is that a really dumb question
