RE: Guys need help with Macrovision...Sonel MacMaster!!!!!!!!
Hey there,
`NTSC PLAYBACK ON PAL TV` is often a misleading statement. Many VCRs displaying this actually play back the video at `PAL 60`, which means a UK colour (PAL) format but the original framerate/refresh rate (NTSC).
Needless to say, this means you can`t tape your US movies without a PAL/NTSC converter box (around £150) or a new VCR which actually converts the NTSC signal to `true` PAL (aka PAL 50). I am not sure how common these machines are...
Sorry to inform you,
BuffyAngel

RE: Anyone have a Sonel `Mac Master`?
Great,
Thanks for your comments everyone. I will be buying one on Monday.

RE: WARNING: DVD `Side Effects`
Yep, I`ve got to agree with you all.
I even have multiple copies of DVDs now just because of different features. Sad to admit, but I have three HALLOWEEN 5s (Reg1, Reg2 and a Reg0 Limited Edition Tin), two MATRIXs and three AMERICAN PIEs.
Even worse are the BUFFY boxsets. I already own them all on video, but have just shelled out £91 for the Season 1 and 2 DVD sets. Shocking...
True also is the statement about buying DVDs you wouldn`t even consider buying on VHS. Idle Hands and Deep Rising spring to mind.
I bet our credit card companies love us, though :)

Anyone have a Sonel `Mac Master`?
Hi there,
I am considering buying a Mac Master from Sonel and wanted to know if anyone is using it/what they think of it?
Does it work on ALL macrovision sources, or just DVD? Also, did you have to buy a power lead separately for it?
Finally, £24.99 is cheap for a macrovision-remover box, right?
Thanks
