Got as far as payment for the above recorder by using the link below,If the link doesn`t work then search under dvd and its in the column. Sadly no cash at the moment i guess the price will stay around this price

The DVDR1000 is still available from hispek.co.uk for £499.88 including free delivery a better buy than the 980 as it has a firewire/ilink port

Looks like letsbuy it have got more stock in. You dont get charged till after the co-buy ends then the supplier sends you payment details

Ramtec - That`s not such an easy call to make. The 980 is a newer and more refined model, with a second generation MPEG encoder - compared to the DVDR1000`s first generation unit - you`d see a much better performance from the newer model.

So, only people strictly requiring the firewire should go for the 1000, and then they might be better off going for the 985 instead.
