Painful for those of us who bought it at the full-price last year, but good news for the rest of you.

Good price but will only mean SKY+ will sure follow & with SKY+ having digital out for 5.1 movies I`d rather wait but thanks anyway

Lee, excuse my ignorance, but what has Sky+ got to do with the Tivo PVR and the previous post? I don`t have Sky or a Tivo which is why I ask. :-)

Tivo was selling for £99 from Powerhouse a few months ago....!

Sky+ is very similar to tivo and offers many of the same features such as pausing live tv, recording programmes onto hard drive, recording things that you might like etc. It also acts as your digibox and offers DD 5.1 out which tivo does not.

Is the TIVO any use at all without the subscription services ?

Thanks.

Mrx, without the subscription it`s about as much use as a lock with no key. I`m not even sure you can buy it without the subscription :(

I thought that it just worked like a large-capacity VCR without the sub. Still cheaper than a recordable DVD, or am I missing something?

alterego - Well somthing quite HUGE actually like it wont play DVD`s ;-) and you run out of space very quickly as there no media for a TIVO !!
