RE: Olympus Digital Camera, £99.89 at Dixons
Thanks MJ I was looking for one of these and have just bought one from the local Dixons at the same price as the web-site. They go back to £149.99 next week according to the sales person.
Good call.

Excellent posting MJ, I should know better than to read this forum, it always costs me money, what a cracking deal. Offer ends on 16th Dec.
If you go to the Dixons homepage and enter the competition in the top right hand corner, answer a few basic questions, they will send you an e-mail voucher for £10, for any purchase online £100+!!! They are also offering a deal (net only) for 64MB smartmedia card (maxell I think) for £24.99.
So the whole deal for camera and 64meg card, minus £10 discount, less than £115. Gotta say it again, wotta deal.

I agree this site is costing me an arm and a leg, the missus went mad when I got home with mine last nite. Anyway I loaded the software and took a few piccies of her and she has come round as she was v. impressed with the quality. Neither of us are digital camera experts but I would have to say the quality did not look much different from my mate`s which cost him around 400 notes - this has got to be an excellent entry model.
They only had a few left when I bought mine last nite so get a move on.

Thanks MJ Well Spotted
This camera is vastly superior to the cheapie at almost the same price which santa was to bring for my daughter.
Ordered via website so just hope it arrives before Xmas.:-))
RE: Olympus Digital Camera, £99.89 at Dixons
Your all welcome!
I had been looking for a digi cam for myself, and had been comparing a few....However, I`m not buying it myself, I`m hoping santa is gonna bring it for me! ;-)
We have a camera very similar to this at work, and they are very easy to use, and give good results.
Anyone buying this camera though, I would recommend buying a smartcard reader rather than use the `Camedia` software that comes with it. Form my experience that camedia software is very slow for downloading images.
With a smartcard reader, you simply remove the smartcard from the camera, place it in the reader then drag and drop the files from the card to your computer using windows explorer or similar....Takes about a minute!
Maplin are selling multi smart card readers for about £19.99....www.maplin.co.uk There is no direct link, you`ll have to search the site for item ref: A98AA
Hope this helps!
All the best for Chrimbo!
MJ

Re maxell flashcard offer
It is actually a 32mb @ £ 24.99 which is not quite as good.
If you dont get the £ 10.00 voucher, which I didn`t ;-(
Try here for possibly the cheapest in the U.K. 64mb under £ 17.00

RE: Olympus Digital Camera, £99.89 at Dixons
kywy, I just bought a 64 mb non-descript smart media card from 7dayshop.com for 16 notes - should I have spent the extra for the Viking?
RE: Olympus Digital Camera, £99.89 at Dixons
goober , you posted as I was updating to the same info, so you are quite right of course.
Mind you I`ve used the Viking 64mb @ £ 24.00 extensively for over a year with no problems so I can recommend it. ;-))

RE: Olympus Digital Camera, £99.89 at Dixons
Just been and double checked my facts, and Dixons online ARE offering as a WEB EXCLUSIVE a Maxell 64MB smartmedia card. Although they are selling the 32MB at the same price. So as I said before £115 (with voucher) for camera and 64meg card.
