Looks nice and have pointed my Dad in that direction...just out of curiosity, why might it not work with some Toshiba TVs as per the description at the bottom?
Cheers...F...

I got one on Saturday and its quite a good system, and for the money you can`t complain. The sub-woofer is a little weaker than some I`ve heard but I`m sure the neighbours appreciate it.

No idea why it wont work with Toshibas - I have mine hooked up via optical cable to my Aiwa dvd player, Sky digital and Gamecube via Aux and it all sounds marvellous to me.

One thing that is a slight design flaw is the lack of controls on the actual unit - everything is controlled via the remote, which is a wee fiddly credit card sized one. If you do get one, make sure you remove the battery from the remote as theres a little bit of clear plastic on it to save the battery but stops it working until you remove it....had me worried for a minute until I checked.

I tried the Acoustic solutions 5.1 and it was OK. Managed to find a better Packard Bell 5.1 system with external decoded from PC world for £129 which I thought was good. They have now reduced it to £99.99 well worth a look as you can add other inputs as well.

Also got the Acoustic solutions one and WOW best £99 pound I`ve spent, my stereo before was about 11 years old, so old in fact I could not connect my dvd player to it, but now a whole new world has been opened to me and I`m off to play Jurassic park and hear the T-Rex roar. I also have a whole new reason to play Resident evil again. If you are listening to dvd`s through your TV it, you will notice an amazing difference.

If you are currently using your stereo and are not sure, Argos offer a 16 day money back guarantee if you are not happy so you can your own mind up.

Just out of interest what is the difference between optical and coaxial, I`m assuming optical is better quality as they don`t supply the leads if so is it worth my while?

I got an optical cable at the same time, they do a 1.8m for £12 in Argos.

Today I was playing Medal of Honor on the Gamecube through it - WOW! bullets flying behind me, planes sound as if they are flying over head, shouting total chaoe etc....FANTASTIC!!!

I`ve noticed that for a good sound from Sky set it to Matrixed on Pro Logic.

Is there any difference in quality between optical and coaxial?

For this price level of system, you won`t hear the difference. If you would have separates and spend a lot of time listening to music or movies, then I think coaxial is favoured among avforum members, although it is in practical terms extremely difficult to differ even on higher system prices.

Really? I didn`t know that but assumed optical was better as the coaxial cable is bundled in with the system.
