RE: So you think you know PayPal?
As retro geezer said... some people received them, they were classed as graded, the company did have history...that bedfellow with blind & the one you (sic) "thinks" is called greed? He may well be named "ill informed"? Do you not remember the "kodak" camera price mix up a few years ago? Have you never, ever had a real, & I mean real bargain from the web? I have & I suspect many others too. Simple fact is, this was a well set up, well thought out, long term planned, out & out con, nothing more, nothing less & a lot of innocent & well intentioned people got caught up in it but if it makes you feel clever...name calling for the win! I was trying to save a few quid around Xmas time by buying what I thought was a bargain for my son...greedy? Retrogeezer & his mum...greedy? Your call.

RE: So you think you know PayPal?
Hey, well done. My bank were as helpful as Paypal - RBoS - & as I was "between" credit cards at the time (rate tarting I think it`s called), paid via paypal & dbit card...I know, I know :/ . Lesson learned though & top result for you & your mum :)
RE: So you think you know PayPal?
Ah ok sue, sorry for the aggresive language, brought it all flooding back! >:( Glad it it wasn`t too painful financially for you. Expensive lesson to learn although one I`ll never, ever forget :D

RE: So you think you know PayPal?
That thing 2 years ago Sue Brown, nowt to do with a refurbished 32" lcd telly was it? "RedHot100.co.uk" or something similar? If so, I got done for a £100.00 quid too. Paypal investigated, found in my favour & then said that as the account had been cleared, they couldn`t & wouldn`t refund me, wouldn`t release details of the bank account for an investigation & generally dicked around until I gave up...was a lot of publicity about this at a similar time too Needed that loss around Xmas like an extra hole in the head! Haven`t used them since & never will again & I make an effort to ensure all colleagues, family & freinds don`t either...****ers. :¦
Edited for crepe speeling ind grammu. ;)

The Royal Anglicans
I haven`t heard anything about this church parade :D to be honest but the protests at the Royal Anglian march I thought was pretty disgusting. One of the pitfalls of free speech I s`pose, you always get the loons at the fringes...these wastes of skin one side & the BNP the other with most normal thinking people somewhere in the middle. Did however have some faith in human nature restored at the amount of people who came out in support of the march today.
RE: Yet Another Role Call Thread
Like a bad smell, still hanging around...missing the "contributions" from "bear" & "log" though! :D Kinda reassuring ina funny way seeing the same names (Doc) & good to see Westy saying Hi again at Xmas...eeeeh, them were`t days...I remember when all this were fields :/

Pairing a bluetooth headset with 2 phones at the same time?
Hi, I need to carry 2 phones during the day, 1 personal & 1 for work. Is there a bluetooth standard I need to ensure is in the spec`s for a bluetooth headset which means that if a call comes in on either phone, I can take it in the headset regardless of which phone is ringing at the time. There are some pretty cheap ones on PLAY.com at the moment (under a tenner some of `em) & I`d like to get one while they`re cheap but need to ensure that it will do what I`ve described above. Only reason I ask is that I have a very early NOKIA bluetooth headset that will only pair to one phone at time...no good for what I want.
As always, any advice will be very gratefully received. Thanks...Flyer :)

RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
ok, well at least we tried...gonna get the poor mutt out now, dirty beggars guffin` like a trooper so I think we`d best going quick!.Hope the viewty works out for you...I tried it but couldn`t get along with the touch screen...I do have what could be politely termed "fat ba**ard sized" fingers though! :)
RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
Menu>settings>general>update service>>software version should get you there mate.
I got mine about 6 weeks ago & it came with version 0029 which, from what i read had a poor flash / shutter synch type technical thing... :/ . 0037 is said to have "cured" this...

RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
lol...What software version are you on doc? Mine`s currently R1CA037...
Are you not in touch with Westy still? He would be ideal to get on the case I would imagine? Best of luck with it all though.
RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
Another one taken in my very dimly lit "office" (not really, but all the computer stuffs in here so that`s what it gets called :D )
again, no adjustments but just a vey quick "snap"...bit blurred as the sod wouldn`t stay still!

I much prefer the 850 over the 810...megabass & the bigger screen are the main factors for me...

That shop one is bad isn`t it? The link should take you to quick snap I just did in the pitch black in our spare room...absolutely no light whatsoever...shame you`ve had a few duffers, I too would be considering returning it if I had the sme hassles as you though...
RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
Shame doc about your K850i, mines been fantastic from the start. I tend to have the flash on auto & set the ISO to 200 & have been really impressed with the pics so far. I`ll be honest though, the auto setting doesn`t appear to give as good results as my K810i left on auto. But after leaving the settings saved as above, i`m chuffed to bits...love the mp3 player with megabass too!

RE: 40 lashes in the Sudan - opinions please?
Y`see, they`re even more ridiculous than this makes them out to be. Heard the school director on 5 live saying yesterday that it wasn`t even named after the prophet. It was named after one of the popular kids in the class (helpful & sunny the guy said) after a voting process instigated by the teacher to try & get the kids to get a mild understanding of democracy at work. Now, the school has closed till January (his words) as they are scared of reprisals by the fundamentalists. How sad for the kids & what a bunch of w***ers the people who reported this teacher really must be. Just hope the kids can grow up with a bit more tolerance & common sense than the backward & repressive nutters seeking out & taking offence where there is none.

RE: Do you think the term Pikey is considered racist?
Well I`ve learnt something new today, cheers bytemaster. :) There is still a discussion to be had though regarding Roamanies / Travellers / Tinkers / Gypsies I would say though.
RE: Do you think the term Pikey is considered racist?
Why "Of course it does"? Where on Earth does "chav" have racist values lol! I understood it as a term for "Council House Average Value" or somrthing like that. In the NE it`s just a shortened version of "charver" I believe too. Seriously, where does the "Romany" connection kick in? (I was brought up in Army accomodation then a council house & my parents still live in one before any starts getting "sniffy") Racist... :D :D :¦ Pikey too has just meant essentially the same thing, full of attitude, gobby toe rags round here.

RE: Free Audiobook Wolfbrother read by Gandalf

RE: Sony Ercisson K800i from Carphonewarehouse + 512mb card + unlocked (when it should`nt!) £129.96
Not store wide if my experience is anything to go by...In the Harrogate store (Skipton Road), you got no memory card & certainly had to buy the £10.00 top up despite me taking my lads O2 PAYG (active & registered) with me. Good price none the less, just wish it had been as above...ta for the heads up anyway. :)
