RE: SONY DWU-10A DVD Dual Writer - £122.18 delivered
What`s the deal with this drive and the dru500 firmware upgrade I`ve heard about? Can anyone tell me what it`s for/why you should bother `upgrading` it?
Also I`ve been told that it misbehaves with Nero, and as it`s OEM I`m reluctant to part with more cash for another burning programme - any comments/experiences?

Don`t know about the Sony, but they also have a Panasonic 2x DVD writer (SW9571CYY
) for £90-06 inc VAT. Can`t find any reviews on the web, but the customer reviews seem pretty positive (4.5 out of 5 from 22 reviews). Anyone had any experience with this?

I have the 9581 (caddyless DVDRam disks), upgraded to B102 firmware. 70-odd quid from Scan. As long as I don`t use crappy media it`s great.

Does this cover ALL recordable DVD standards - and would it be multiregion or is that another firmware upgrade.
