Call most places in the world from work or mobilefor the price of a national call! No top up cards, goes straight on phone bill for what you use, been using it for ages, no problems at all! Only minimum call is as per your telecom supplier.

Straight on your phone bill, nothing else to pay, great for using at work, just dial, wait a sec then dial the international number including 00 for international call, then country code....!

I reccomend using www.telediscount.co.uk prices seem far cheaper eg Afghanistan 25p/min US/Hong Kong/Australia Landline 1p/min same deal as above, ring one number wait and dial the number you require. Haven`t used myself but have passed on to loads of people over the xmas period.....

Probably not the case, but if I call this number and my national calls are free from my home line, does this mean I get free calls to my destination?

Smells like an advert to me

National calls are different from national RATE calls. An 0870 call is charged at the national rate but will NOT be free from your phone. It`s actually more expensive than most national rates since companies like telewest charge the same fee no matter where in the UK you call.

Mine are free which is why I wanted to clarify if this 0905 will be the same.

My 0871 numbers are premium rate numbers but currently free for me (I checked on my bill)

The number to call say, x on his Indian Mobile begins 0871 (the 10p rate from BT) so looks like I can get just over 2 1/2 hrs of talktime for nowt from my home phone

(I am not with BT - ripoff merchants! - I used to get billed £40 per month from them & that excluded virtually all non-local/non-national & absolutely no international calls made via mobile/calling card).

I guess, i`ll just wait till I gets home to check.....

not an advert, just passing on the details of the company i use! it works! Just gave all the info instead of 0870 number alone which loads of my mates use for calling from work ;)

Who do you use to get free calls to 0870/0871 numbers from, that would be good for me for making calls from home!

I use my internet provider - for £15 I get unlimited dial-up 24/7(auto-reconnect after 2 hrs) AND I get to make up to £15 worth of calls (hence, my calls are free on 0870/0871 & home bill is typically no more than a fiver (as v.cheap anyway plus I have my mobile) but I still pay £15 for the 24/7 internet so I could use what shows on my bill as this wasted tenner at the moment to make free calls at 9pence a minute to x on his indian mobile.

I always have an up to date bill over the net so can always check bill, how much credit left, etc.

As a real example, I called x over christmas period direct (no 0870/0871 number used) and spent c45p per minute chatting for 15 mins on an 0091 international number dialled direct and this cost me £6.75. My home bill this month came to c£5 so my whole bill still comes to £11.75 and I still have remaining £3.25 to use before my bill date on the 13th of each month. So I guess I can call x again for another 7 mins as well as surf the net to access this forum! and not be charged a penny more.

But at 9p a min instead of 45p/min, this £15 worth goes even further......
