My local Iceland has the a large range of ethnic seasonings from RAJAH starting at about 50p for a large packet compared to those little bottles that you get for over a quid. You probably wouldn`t use half that stuff that she`s peddling.
www.icelandstore.co.uk/ It was under can`s, jars and packets then ethnic ranges. I can`t direct link because the blighters have hidden links.

There are only a few items that you need most times cooking a basic/basic-tarted up curry:

Whole Cumin Seeds (you don`t need Cumin Powder as you can grind the seeds)
Chilli Powder
Turmeric Powder
Cardamom Pods
Paprika Powder
Garam Masala
Whole Black Pepper
Dried Red Chillies
you may as well get a small, fresh piece of ginger.

everything else you will probably use very rarely, if at all.
