RE: Netgear DG834T 108mbps Wireless Router + USB2.0 Adaptor for £89.99

There is a very long thread on the official netgear support forums here about various problems with that particular modem. There are also other threads about problems with the modem.

RE: Your opinions on the MAC MINI

You`ll need to get a usb hub if you don`t already have one. There are only two usb ports and they will be taken up by your keyboard and mouse. If you want to print or use a usb memory stick or plug in your mp3 player, digital camera etc you`ll need more usb ports.

RE: A good value laptop???? Any suggestions????

If you are going to get an ibook for your wife remember that students get a discount on some apple products including computer equipment, her university may even have an apple leasing scheme where you pay about £10 per week for about a year then get the option to buy for something like £50. Take a look here. The basic ibook comes out at about £704 including vat, however if you look at the prices on the website from a university network, the price drops by a further £50.

RE: SAINSBURYS POSTAGE PAID JIFFY BAGS

Doubt it.

It`s worth 88p. If you don`t make up the postage you`ll get the surcharge of a £1 added to any missing postage. Any missing postage is now paid by the sender not the addressee.

RE: Argos clearance 75% *OFF* loads of items, starts Fri Oct 8

Well I asked Argos if it was ok to sell reservation numbers
Quote:
Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email regarding your reservation number query.

Thank you for providing us with this information. I have passed your email to the relevant department for investigation. I can confirm you are allowed to sell a reservation number if you wish, however they have no value therefore there would be no reason to purchase one. The copy right images which were used however, are not allowed to be shown on any other site without the Permission of Argos.

Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at seiriuqne.redro[at]ku.oc.sogra or call us on 0870 600 8784.

Thanks to everyone who posted codes. Apparently some Argos stores are due deliveries of stuff next week, not electricals though.

RE: fancy a nice ruby murray... whilst watching your favourite dvd?

guess its the fact that you can get all those spices for under a tenner (try and do that in the Supermarket...not a chance)

My local Iceland has the a large range of ethnic seasonings from RAJAH starting at about 50p for a large packet compared to those little bottles that you get for over a quid. You probably wouldn`t use half that stuff that she`s peddling.
www.icelandstore.co.uk/ It was under can`s, jars and packets then ethnic ranges. I can`t direct link because the blighters have hidden links.

Cracking Mobile Phone Deal

Saw this over on the money saving expert website

Quote:
Have seen this in quite a few newsgroups and just gone for it myself :

It seems possible to get a Nokia 3510i for free(ish)

It`s also possible to give £18 charity for free by doing this too (hopefully this doesn`t violate the rules of this forum):

easier method now via www.birminghamcarers.org.uk/shop (down bottom of page you shall find the mobile phones section) click on the link there and it takes you to the CPW homepage.

Birmingham Carers is a registered charity under registration number 1086827

- you also get 2,000 free texts to use in the first six months.

Quote:
(copied from a post by Reestit Mutton)

Go to Carphone Warehouse`s front page and you will see an offer with a
FREE Nokia 3510i on Orange YP120 with a £225 automatic cashback after 4
months.

Amazingly, they also give a £20 trade-in for this deal.

The talk on many groups is about downgrading contract after the cheque is paid on the 4th month (to one that`s £15/month eg).

As mentioned there`s £20 cashback available for your old stuff (£10 phone, £5 charger, £5 manual)

the lowest seems to be 30 mins per month as you are tied to a contract. (12
months) this is £15 per month. (IE downgrade to PAYG not allowed for the
first 12 months)

So 4 x £25 + 8 x £15 = £220 so without a trade in you have.
A phone + £5 + 720 mins of calls + 2000 text (if used in the first 6
months, personally I would say use `em before downgrade).

Trust 715 Powercam Digital Camera

Viking direct has this for £89.99. It`s got 3.1 million mega pixels.
They`re doing free fudge. Also free bulbs if you spend over £90.

RE: Matrix Reloaded Region 3 £12.99

I`ve had a look this seems to be a longer version. The running time for R2 is 133mins and for R3 it`s 138mins.Also it`s got an 18 certificate unlike the R2 version with a 15. The audio is in english and thai, instead of english and german. There are still english subtitles. The R2 version has listed : Interative menus, scene selection, theatrical trailer, photo storyboard, making of feature, filmography, featurette . The encoding is PAL. R3 haslisted : Interactive Menus, Scene Selection, Theatrical Trailer, DVD-Rom Enhanced, Making Of Feature, Featurette. The encoding is NTSC. At the end of the day it comes down to whether you`re actually every going to use the interactive features. If you`re not you won`t miss them. They could have been included and just not listed.

RE: England....to play or not ?

I agree.
The man is paid what? £100,000 a week or something silly like that and he can`t remember he`s got a drugs test? One wonders how he manages to get to work in the morning.

The FA could have let him play, that`s probably what they were going to do but someone who wasn`t happy leaked it. So they had to be seen to be doing something. If they didn`t drop him from the side, the turkish fa and uefa would have been crawling all over them.

If those players strike, they can kiss their international careers goodbye. They can probably kiss living in this country, goodbye as well. They`re not doing themselves too many favours at the moment with the threat, especially considering the state football`s reputation is in at the moment.

But then you can`t expect much from people who never got a proper education or were too busy playing football to study.

RE: Sara Cox swapping with Moyles

Apparently they`re moving to Six Music, that digital station.

Sara Cox swapping with Moyles

Heard today that Coxy is moving to the drive time show. I usually miss most of the breakfast show, only catching the last hour when I get to work. What little I catch doesn`t impress me much. Now she`s going to be blaring from my radio at 3 till 5. Looks like I`ll have to investigate the wonders of tinpot local radio, and have to start getting up much earlier in the morning. Why couldn`t they put Scott Mills on or Colin & Edith, anyone`s better that her. She`s such an annoying bint.

RE: TV licences for students

Blind people get a fifty percent discount.

I`ve got sky and I don`t mind paying my licence fee. I agree they are very sneaky when you buy it with the years and so. The first time I bought I`m sure it was only eleven months before it was due again. I don`t think the BBC could make the £2billion a year it costs to run itself from advertising or selling it`s products. There`s more channels and not enough advertising money to go round, look at the problems ITV is going through, having to cut budgets left right and centre. If it wasn`t funded by the licence fee we`d loose the quality, yeah it`s not as good as it should be. But there are some really great programs on the beeb. Look at Sky One, the only good things on that channel are the big american imports which probably amount to five hours of programming a week(not including the daytime repeats), the rest of it is complete an utter dross. Also if the licence fee went we`d probably loose all the 8 national and various local radio stations

RE: BBC may not be showing 24 series 3

Well a cynically minded person could notice that fox (one of the makers of 24) is owned by Mr News International Himself: Rupert Murdoch. They could also note that Sky is owned partially by Mr News International. In addition they could note that Sky One is currently without a high profile audience draw since the demise of Buffy. 24 brings with it a built in audience of three million or so. Not all of them would have Satellite or Cable but a sizable proportion would. Then there would be some who would by satellite or cable to get 24 amongst other things.

where can I find cheap cdr`s/cdrw`s ?

I`m coming to the end of my supply of cdr`s which I think I paid about £25 for a hundred, way back when. I`ve seen a 100pack of imitation one`s on amazon for about £20. Is this the cheapest there is out there? Or are there cheaper one`s to be had?

RE: Alias only £9.99 @ DVD Concept

Sorry, I got the price from here. I think I`ll stick with play, the price seems too good to be true.

Alias only £9.99 @ DVD Concept

I was doing a search for the Alias box set on dvdpricecheck and the cheapest price seems to be £9.99 at DVD Concept. Has anyone heard anything about this company? Is it legit? The price seems too good to be true for a box set.
