cd wow were offering this for £14.99 over xmas, but I dont know if it ever got released.

The film is ok, bit of a scramble really and it quite odd. Still, there is some excellent imagery in it.

CD-Wow had the R1 uncut version, the Dutch R2 has better picture quality (see here) and more extras, but misses out on the Director`s commentary.

Happy Hamish, the R3 you`ve ordered is cut by around 13 minutes.

But even so, £2 for a DVD is still a bargain. I wouldn`t pay another £18 just for those 14mins, but then I suppose it depends on how much you like the film.

Considering that it`s 13 minutes that should be there then it`s not really a bargain. Take Eraser for example, that film is missing 2 and a half minutes in the UK and it`s nearly unwatchable because the editing is so poor on the cuts. Imagine a film missing 13 minutes snipped by censors? :/

Although I`ve noticed PlayUSA have the Unrated R1 version for £13.99. Is this a good deal and is it fully uncut?

Yeah, R1 (actually R0 I believe) is fully uncut, as long as it`s the "Unrated" version. However the colour is quite washed out, see comparison in my other post. You could probably get it cheaper than that, but not much.

Well I`m not sure which version I watched of Ichi the Killer, and still haven`t gotten around to buying it yet; also want to get Dark Water at some point too.

I also purchased the R3 version from DDDHouse - good job it was only a couple of quid because its the most horrendously edited movie i think i`ve ever seen. I was fortunate enough to find a DIVX rip of the uncensored version and believe me the cut scenes are essential to enjoying this movie...the edited version should be avoided at all costs. I`ve recently bought one of the new DVD players which support DIVX/XVID playback so now i`ve trashed my original disk.
