Philips 610 DVD Recorder now £199.99 at Argos
Haven`t been able to find the Philips 610 DVD recorder at a Sainsbury near me with there £99.99 offer but Argos have just knocked £100 off their price so it`s now at £199.99, is it a good buy?, seems to me the DVDR70 gets less problems reported by owners.

If I was going to spend £200 on a DVD recorder it would be the Panasonic, cant think of any reason to buy anything else, for that money its the best.

£208.00 and free delivery, you could maybe find it cheaper if you looked around.

For around £200 it would be the Pan E55.
John Lewis (Bluewater) are clearing used models with 2 year gtees. A DVDR70 was £130 but bound to clear quick. Another link around here suggests prices under £130 for reconditioned DVDR70s and there is the DVDR75 at Amazon.
As the owner of one of the first, I can`t wait to swap it at Sainsburys due to machine lock-ups. A few other people I have heard from have had similar problems, but there are some still going strong. I can`t fault the picture, ease of use, connectivity etc. - but it just freezes at odd times (other links mention fan issues) and when I told Philips they apologised and suggest I swap.

Hi,
thanks for the info, my main problem with a Pana is that I can`t record to a RW to give to a friend to watch, I didn`t want to record to a once only DVD-R and the RAM DVD won`t play on most DVD Players, shame really because as you say it`s a fine machine.
