Sorry for not posting earlier!

Belkin 8 way surge protectors in Homebase, these are branded as Stanley (the utility knife people) have 8 individually switchable sockets, phone connector and lead, i paid over £40 for a belkin inferiour product (not individually switchable) all for the bargain price of £19.99!

But it get`s better, i picked up 3 and got 3 for 2 and it was 10% weekend!

So, 3 x 8 way surge protectors for £39.98!

Plus they have the lifetime warranty, ie if they fail protecting your gear Belkin will replace them for you and up to £100,000 of gear is covered!

They also have the 6 way with £50,000 worth of insurance for £17.99 but for the extra £2 the 8 way is the one, and it`s not a mistake, you can place a special order in store as i did for some more!

Nice one, diverse - thanks for posting. Got one of the 8-way units this morning - as you say, it`s made by Belkin and has individual switches on each socket. None of their own-brand surge protectors seem to have that feature, which is odd.

It was the 3 for 2 i was stunned by! I was happy at £19.99 but to get one free was some mighty fine icing on that cake!

My son works at Homebase - 20% staff discount. That`s candles in the icing!

DIVERSE - did it say 3 for 2 on the stand or didi you ask at a till to check ?

I went into Homebase with 3 such items eagerly clutched in my mitts and was told the offer had ended bah...... >:(

it did not say 3 for 2, the discount was noticed when i paid!

They were certainly offering 3 for 2 last Saturday in the St.Albans branch - perhaps that was the last day?

They are trully good, the individual swithches means i leave the unit plugged in 24/7 and can switch off power to PC or whatever in the full knowledge it`s protected!

2005 is looking good already on the bargain front!
