Nice TV for the bedroom - Asda

We were in Asda last night and they have a nice 20" Pacific TV with Teletext for £78, we got one, and the picture is pretty good...great for the bedroom. It`s a silver casing, and mono, although it seems to have a speaker at either side of the screen, but I guess working in tandem as one.

Main reason we got it is for the scart socket (plus bigger than our 17" Toshiba we have at the moment), now we can use our redundant Freeview box in the bedroom. :)

(Model: Pacific STT2021)

Nice looking TV for the price. :)

Mark. :)

I bought one of these just before Xmas for £89 at ASDA.

I`m very pleased with it so far, it even has a wideband tuner which is ideal for picking up analogue NTL.

They`re doing a 28" and a 28" widescreen for £158. (each that is) Bought one for the mother in law at the weekend and the picture quality is great.

We bought the next model up from Mark`s for my brother for Christmas along with the Pacific 1002 DVD player.

The TV was £108 at the time, he is very pleased with it, it is practically the same as Mark`s but has fasttext, nicam stereo and 2 scarts. It is fantastic very impressed with it.

Highly recomend them to anyone.

All the best

Ger.

I`m loving this TV (STT2021), but I`ve made a major error - I`ve done something and now it`s prompting me for a code on the TV - Any assistance is appreciated..... Not helped by the fact that I`ve lost my manual of course....

James,
I replied to your email earlier but wasn`t sure which TV you were on about as you only gave the model code and we have a few different TVs. I googled the number and found this thread, so now know you`re talking about the Pacific 20" TV we have.

What is the error, what did you do for it to come up? I`ve never had any error messages come up on ours. If you can give me an idea of what`s wrong I can look in the manual, see if there`s anything in the fault finding section (have to find the manual first...we do have it somewhere...lol) :)

It`a amazing how little come conventional (CRT) TV`s are going for now. The same applies to computer monitors - the 19" one that I am using cost around £100 and is better for photo editing than any LCD I`ve seen. Similarly, I`ve yet to see any flat display that matches our old Grunding TV. Admittedly, there is an interpolation problem with TV`s that doesn`t occur with computers (assuming you match the output resolution with the screen`s own pixel count), but I`m not buying into flat screen TV until HD is properly sorted!

I assume that CRT`s are on the way out, so expect prices to rise again once they`ve disappeared from the shops in a year or two.

I got a 21" Wharfedale telly from Argos for the bedroom. Ni-Cam, 2 scarts, headphone socket and av sockets. Cost on the website was £89.99. At the checkout the price at the till was £75.99.
Great picture through freeview. DVD Player & Video. Sound is brilliant through the small surround sound system we have in the bedroom.

I posted this thread over a year ago guys, so prices will have changed again now, at the time it was a good price (still is I guess). The thread`s just been resurrected by James because he has a problem with his.

Just in case anyone thinks this is a current bargain. :)
