CLOSED: Pentium 4 Dell Dimension 3000 (£168 with 17in CRT, £234 with 17in TFT, £316 with 19in TFT)

Update (13:30hrs): These deals were VERY short lived this time. Prices are now much higher when you click through using either the non-affiliate links below or the links via my site.

This must be just about the cheapest Pentium 4 desktop PC + monitor deal available to date (ISTR a slightly more expensive one just before Xmas).

Dell seem to have made a balls-up in the pricing of one of their Dimension 3000 machines, such that you can get a 3.0GHz pentium 4 with HT (800MHz FSB, 1GB Cache) machine + a basic 17" CRT monitor for only £168 delivered.

The "error" seems to center around the pricing of the processor - it`s not the slowest of the 3 options available but, rather unusually, it`s the cheapest.

Details as follows:
===================
Dimension 3000
3.0 GHz Pentium 4 with HT technology (1MB Cache, 800MHz FSB)
256MB Dual Channel 400MHz DDR memory
40GB 7200 RPM IDE hard drive
48x CD ROM drive
Integrated graphics
17" CRT

Non-affiliate link to the product in question with all the relevant options automatically selected for you (no faffing around necessary):

Or, if you`re happy to use it,
I also have an affiliate version of this link on my website:

ADDENDUM:

Having had another scout around, I`ve also managed to identify 17" TFT & 19" TFT options that also make use of the same potential pricing error (actually, to give proper credit where it`s due, I found the TFT packages being discussed over on RPoints).

Both of these packages also have double the memory (512MB), double the disk space (80GB) & a CDRW as standard so the prices quoted represent far better value for money than the previous CRT deal:

with 17" TFT = £234
http://makeashorterlink.com/?I20821FBA (non-affiliate)

with 19" TFT = £316
http://makeashorterlink.com/?P4F726FBA (non-affiliate)

Again, if you`re happy to use them,
I also have affiliate links for these deals on my website:
http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~lauriem/latest_additions.html#2503200502

As before, I have automatically selected all the relevant configuration options for you in advance, thus avoiding a plethora of "how did you manage to get that price?" questions from those not willing/able to read instructions included in the post.

However, if you have problems with the above TFT package links (and can read), simply type in one of the following evalue codes: 101-D03302B (17" TFT) or 101-D03302C (19" TFT). Then change the processor to the 3GHz one, change the memory type to DDR4000 to be compatible with the faster bus on the processor selected and then change the service option to 1 year collect & return.

I can`t promise that they will honour any of the above deals. In fact it would not surprise me if they try to wriggle out of it at first - However, I`m sure you all know from past experience with Dell that constant pressure from a large body of customers usually has the desired result in the end.

My gut feeling is that this won`t be available for long...
