Great for second hand books, all at £3.75 delivered (paperbacks), For hardbacks there is a delivery charge.
Good for selling on too.

this looks like a cool idea.
I`ve taken the plunge and ordered one to see how it works... if it works well i can see myself using this a lot.

yeah its quite a good site, although their stock is limited. Its also a good way to get rid of those old books I have.

I`ve found selling on the site is slow, but I`ve probably been trying to sell older bookss. It is great for crime fiction, I started reading John Sandford`s books recently, and there`s a ton on here at the moment, that`s summer holiday reading sorted.

I`ve put some books on here and on Amazon bu so far Amazon has been the best. Nothing happening on Green metropolis. It is a great idea though and I have ordered a couple of books. They also do childrens and audio books but it needs to build up some loyal buyers and sellers. You can`t tell whether it will take off or not but I hope so because it aids recycling and will no doubt the place to get a cheaper Harry Pooter in July!

Yeah, seems to be great for buying from. Somewhat odd, since there are clearly a wealth of sellers, so why aren`t they buying.
I haven`t had much luck with amazon either, find bundling three books on ebay is more effectuve and you don`t have to charge amazon levels of postage.

I bought on too. All went through fine.
For a lot of paperbacks it probably works out a few pence more than you might be able to grab them on ebay... but its a lot less hassle as you don`t have to worry about bids, last minute outbids, etc.. I guess the queuing system might make it a bit slower for sellers...
On the whole i like it, and with a bigger user base it could only get better. Off to buy some more...

Paws off the John Sanderson Prey novels, I saw them first ;)

I know its not really the same thing but if you can come to terms with buying things from a shop rather than online, the best place for second hand books is Oxfam or Cancer Research. If youre not hugely fussy about what you read you can pick up some gems.
I dont know about their policy in general, but some of the ones round us are so flooded with second hand books they do three for a quid. Got Chapter House Dune, The Andromeda Strain and The Talisman for a round pound.
Its a lot of pages per penny.
I Dont know Karate...but I know Ker-azy!

Shop, what`s a shop, you mean like one of those bricks `n` mortar thingies one hears about from one`s granny?
Sad really isn`t it, I must get out more, then again when I`m out I want to be skiing, surfing or otherwise not shopping. Must fit the kids in somewhere too, oh I forgot, they`re learning to ski too, roll on winter 2006, now, where did I leave my wet suit.
