I recently went to John Lewis at the Trafford Centre in Manchester and had a look at the clearance section in the electrical department they had a number of Ipod Nanos on offer. Some of them had slight scratches on and some had missing components, the one I bought had a missing USB lead and a slight scratch on the back (not visible with a new skin on), the sales assistant discounted it down to £55.

I was surprised he had the autonomy to discount to such low level. Having secured this deal I thought the guy was slightly barking and chanced my arm with a Sony PSP discounted to £70 because it had a missing 32Mb memory card ( I bought a 1GB replacement from a computer show for £ 25). There you are chance your arm and grab a bargain. Just remember to ask to see what components are missing and haggle a bigger discount.
