If you`ve got a Pentax, Samsung or Sony/Konica Minolta digital SLR camera, and are looking for a long zoom lens, then Tecno have an incredible price on the Tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom - it`s just £56.14 which is less than half price.

If my experience is typical, you can also save £2 on next day delivery as the standard delivery arrived next day anyway.

If you`ve got a Canon or Nikon you`ll have to pay £31 more!

Thanks a bunch Carolyn_ibd!

Just had to pass up the Babylon5 box set bargain on Amazon due to money needed for cars, now you find this :( .

Not that I have a DSLR - YET! ;) - but I do have an old Pentax SLR, so I was thinking of getting a Pentax DSLR so that I could use some of my old lenses (inc. a Tamron 500mm cat).

That is a very good price for a lens, almost worth buying now, ready for when I do get my lovely new DSLR. (I hope the OH doesn't get to see this, or I'll be for it! :o ).

A bit more about the lens at Tamron here

Got one of these on my Canon 350d, does the job for those on a budget (and not too bad for macro).

Why has the link been "censored" out?!

I don`t know - I created a `tinyurl` for it as the actual link is enormous...

Now showing as out of stock (not surprised at that price) with more available in 10 days. Just have to keep checking at www.tecno.co.uk if you want one I guess.

Incidentally I notice that Tecno`s parent company Jessops are showing it at £199.99 on their site!!

Having had chance for a little play with the lens yesterday the images are excellent - took some lovely macro shots. AF is a little slower than the Samsung (Pentax) lenses that came with the camera, and it`s quite a big piece of kit to handhold. Construction and handling are solid though it is predominantly plastic (but with an all important metal lens mount). Definately recommended if you can track one down at a good price.

This is very useful link, if you want to see what the Tamron 70-300 magnification is like.
Tamron Lens magnification comparison

Recently got a new 18-200 tamron lens, but had to return it because the barrel kept slipping when taking angled shots. It had a lock button to stop the barrel from sliding down, when you hung the camera/lens over your shoulder. But the picture quality was fairly good, shame about the barrel.

The tamron 70-300 for £56 is a very good price, most places have it ffrom £119+

p.s. I got the remote control planes for £12.95 each (plus postage of £3.95) still works out cheap if you get 2 or more. Debenhams sale have them for £19.99 (if you can get them) other places had them around £40 before Xmas. Guess who`s getting a new toy to play with (and one as pressie)? :D thanks for link.
