RE: Anyone recommend third party glossy paper for Epson?

For past few years I`ve been using paper from Costco (4 months ago was about £12 inclusive of vat for box of 100 x A4, but you have to be a member to purchase from them or know someone that is ). Use Photo Glossy and a couple of other settings depending on what I`m printing. Never had any problems with it and would recommend it especially for Epsons printers. Ideal for photo printing

Don`t like using generic inks so stick with Epson originals. Generics tend to smell, colour not long lasting, clogg up printer and display printer error/messages.

Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB) - relocating ACVHD recorded home movies

I have to use Sony PMB (installed on my c: drive) to upload my AVCHD format recorded footage from my Sony HDR SR12e handycam. Unfortunately my C: Hard disk is getting very full.

Anyone know best way to transfer the existing footage (and new footage) to an external Hard Drive (in my case Western Digital - 250 GB). I`ve tried moving/copying the files from c: to external, but am then unable to view them because their extension isn`t supported. I`m able to move some of the ones that I`ve recorded in SD (standard Definition).

I can`t find any easy answers. Can anyone help or does anyone have a contact number for Sony Customer Support - ? their online support is a nightmare to navigate around

Cheers

RE: AVG - Latest Update

I`ve been put off upgrading to AVG9 having read these threads. Been using it for years without any major problems and on AVG vs. 8.5.437 (with updates still being issued for it ).

Can`t decide what to replace it even though a few mentioned here. Any Help appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: Did you update your Firefox recently?

A couple of weeks back my Firefox started getting slower, locking up or having difficulty loading. I thought it was my connection. Then got two updates almost one after the other to install. Its behaving itself at moment (now on version 3.6.2 ). :D

Update: Don`t know if it`s me, but firefox starting playing up again and freezing when using you-tube. Got some type of error msg "logo process has failed to create....." soumething to do with security. Couldn`t read all of it before screen went Black! Had to switch off and on at mains then two attempts to startup in safe mode.

RE: AA renewal any alternatives?

sorry just read your thread. I found with AA renewals (having been with them 6+ years) it`s always best to ring up and threaten to cancel and tell them what other offers you can get.

My last renewal for a loyal customer was around £134, but got it down to £89! (for me and the other half on our two cars fully covered with free roadside plus other cars) after quoating a special offer for newcomers via quidco (at the time). In the end didn`t need to bother with quidco, the AA just matched it for me.

Their words not mine "if you don`t call us and tell us you`ve found cheaper cover and you`re not happy with your renewal quote, how will we know to offer you a better one" ? :o

Glad you`ve got it sorted. My sis and her family have been with Green Flag and more than happy with them.

RE: So what`s the overall opinion on the iPhone?

What`s the best way to get an iphone 16gb 3Gs?, through o2 with a contract or can it be purchased from Apple then a sim only contract from O2. Or how much should I expect to pay.

I ummed so long when the 8gb iphone was out and never got it now this new 3Gs looks extremly tempting.

Thanks

RE: Broadband Problems

If you have contract with 02, or even a simplicity sim card you also get discount if you get their broadband and within their range. I guess if you`re unable to get SKY with 02 also.

I`ve got the same problem can`t get Sky or 02 discounted rates because of my exchange. 02 offer me Option "ACCESS" for about £18 a month, but I`m paying less than that at the moment with F2S (which I wouldn`t recommend).

Our mates a few doors away keep getting phone calls from BT trying to sell them broadband contract. They`re with TIscalli who have offered them free for first 3 months, then £9.99 for 9 months and free wireless router (instead of modem) to keep them. We only get up to max of 3Mb round our way.

RE: Snow Watch 2009.

Snow snow and more snow down south.

Kids were playing in garden at 7.30 am before going to school this morning. Rang school to say they`d be late as we couldn`t get onto main road, only to be told not to bother bringing them as it would be closed today.

Times likes these I wish we had a 4WD :D

We were up to 18cms deep in some open areas.

RE: Animal Crossing Wii - friend codes?

Hi Nellieboy,

Hope you don`t mind me joining in. We got it for our kids because they loved the nds version. Guess what they love this even more. Problem is I can`t get them off it! They like checking in to see if they`ve got any letters from the characters it`s fairly interactive.

RE: Hi guys, ONCE AGAI,,,,,, i humbly need help & recomendations for a cheao bluteeth/WIF Printer

Sue, don`t know if you`ve got your wifi printer. But saw this mentioned on hotukdeals, from play.com. Thinking of getting it myself. :)

HP C7280 all in one wifi printer reduced to £54.99 (and less if you used a 5% off code & quidco

Niteowl

Update: was a bargain at £54.99, but price now up to £255! don`t know what Play are playing at, unless it was a genuine pricing error.

HP C7280 all in one Wireless printer :-( was £54.99 price gone up to£255 now

Saw this mentioned on Hotukdeals. In case anyone is looking for a wireless all in one printer.

It`s had mixed reviews, generally good, reduced to £54.99 (from rrp of £255), lowest price of £120 on other sites.

See here.

Niteowl

I`ve changed the title: as the price seems to have jumped to £159, then £255 today (Sunday). Looks like Play.com have cancelled lots/allf orders even those listed as being despatched.

Mods, you might like to remove this as it`s no longer a bargain.

RE: A few pictures taken with my Omnia.

Vodafone are doing a 12 month contract with free phone and if you go via quidco you could get another £150 (at the moment) off. And quidco have a couple of codes to get free bluetooth headset and/or 1gb memory card.

see hotukdeals here.

A few mixed review on the phone.

RE: Hotmail problems - Can see emails but can`t read them

I`ve managed to raise it on windows hotmail support forum. There were a few posts with people who have same problem but no mention of how to sort it. some dating a few weeks back.

At least I`ve got another email account with someone else, but annoying that I can`t read my hotmail emails.

Thanks for trying to help anyway.

RE: Hotmail problems - Can see emails but can`t read them

Sorry, Miles, I meant to say I don`t have Outlook Express,

I have Thunderbird instead for my emails. I only use IE7 (version 7.0.6) only and keep it uptodate but still can`t read my hotmail emails.

I`m not aware of any other blocking software that`s been installed since the problem began, unless Vista has installed some.

I can`t even forward the emails to my other email account with another ISP, because the option doesn`t come up.

Have tried searching on Windows support but theres no mention of solution there.

RE: Empire Direct or Amazon?

I opted with Empire direct in the end.

Very happy with price (they priced matched another site on the web) reducing theirs by £175 (plus Sony manufacturer £50 cheque back offer). I took out the empire direct card (about £23 annually) that give extended guarantee of 3 years in total and some other perks. It worked out cheaper purchasing via the phone than via quidco (which I think was about 2%).

My order arrived next day (they didn`t charge delivery- matched with other site). They even called to check I was happy with everything and that I`d received it okay.

All in all I was very impressed and won`t hesitate to recommend them to others.

RE: Hotmail problems - Can see emails but can`t read them

Hi Miles, Thanks for getting back :)

I`ve tried via windows live mail, sometimes am able to read the first new/unread emai and none after that, nore can I forward/reply to it. Screen displays blank contents and doesn`t give any buttons/options. :(

Have tried via hotmail.com but don`t think you can select windows live classic - same problem. see emails, click to open, get blank contents.

Don`t think I can reinstall previous windows LIve as others have asked question on web without any success.

Stupid question: Could it because I don`t have internet explorer 7, and use mozilla thunderbird on my vista pc?
