Full Screen/Pan & Scan is a method of showing a movie on older non widescreen style TVs. You lose a lot of picture information because the sides of the pic are sliced off so it fitted all of the squareish screen without any black bars.

With a widescreen movie, you have the whole picture available to you. Depending on the movie, the films ratio depends to be either a 1:66 ratio, 1:85 ratio or a 2:35 ratio (films in the latter ratio give you black bars on a Widescreen TV on the top and bottom)

You should ALWAYS go for Widescreen versions otherwise you are seeing a movie as it was not intended to be seen

yeah, but it`s Liar Liar

so i don`t think people are gonna be too fussed about not getting the `full experience` ;)

Don`t be stupid - every film is hurt badly by Pan and Scam. Buying these sort of titles encourages Hollywood studios to continue this horrible trend

i agree that pan and scan shouldn`t happen. films were ment to look a certain way. taking away part of the picture is the same as cutting or censoring scenes.

the problem is that many people are shallow and unconcerned about how things were ment to be, content with accepting what they are given.

i would whole-heartedly support a compaign to stop the film industry dissecting films, until i got bored at least.

thanks for the feedback too
