According to the www.hmv.co.uk website it is only FilmFour DVDs in the buy one get one free campaign?

Try clicking on the `Other DVDs from £4.99` link on the first page.

The sale has been going on for some time.

That just takes you to the `DVD Clearout` sale that been going on for weeks.

Might visit the Newcastle store at lunchtime to check it out!

Many of the DVDs in the HMV sale, you can already get for a cheap price at other sites. e.g American History X is on at £19.99 on HMV but only £8.99 at Play and Blade is on at £19.99 on HMV but again only £8.99 on Play. I think, it`s not really a buy one get one free sale as they`ve already included the cost of the second DVD in the price.

I agree : I`m pretty sure some of these DVDs have been cheaper in HMV before this so-called "sale".... :-(

I tend to find that those who buy a higher percentage of disks off the high street aren`t budget-searching enthusiasts like us, and most of them only have region 2 players anyway...
We all know these high street retailers take the p*** for prices when compared to our Web based chums at Play/CD-WOW etc, but for those relucant to buy off the Web the HMV/Virgin 2 for 1`s or BOGOF`s provide a decent alternative. Also there`s the added bonus of getting to see whether the packaging is put together well, cue my gripes with CD-WOW over my T2 disk...

Most of it is not a bargain, but there are a few good ones: you could get
Almost Famous 2 disc special edition+ Cape Fear box set for £25
Withnail and I and Evil Dead(not the book) for £15 thats the cost of each of these on play (evil dead 2 is the same price as on Play aswell)
T2

Thats about it though, Almost Famous and Cape fear as a bogof seems to be the onlly big money saver.

Steve

EDIT: Scrap that! just been looking at Play`s new deals and Withnail and I and Evil Dead are £7.99 each!! and Evil dead 2 is now £8.99. So Almost Famous, Cape Fear, and T2 are the only worthwhile options.
