Page 1 of Chicken Run disk problems?

I`ve just got a new dvd player, the Toshiba SD220E. On trying to play my R2 Chicken Run, which I haven`t played for a while, it crashes on loading. There are random blocks on the screen. Other disks seem to play ok, so I don`t think it`s the player. Looking at the disk itself, it looks a bit cloudy. Does anyone know of any problems with the disk / player?

George, I am having exactly the problem you describe with Chicken Run. I have tried it on my DVD player (Sony DVPF11), where I get the blocks you mention, and on both my PC and laptop, where it just fails to load. I`ve checked the disk surface and it seems clear.

If this is a widespread problem, perhaps Pathe will "do an MGM" and replace faulty disks (as per Terminator and Silence Of The Lambs?).

No probs on my Sony 725
