Page 1 of lord of the rings any info?
DVDs & Films Forum
already got lord of the rings but thinking of buying the spec edi,for the sake of the extra 30 mins one little problem though does anyone know if the 30mins will be put in the film or just has a special extended scenes on the menu.thanks
I think it`s been branched into the film making the film 30mins longer.
The best way for deleted scenes to be shown in my opinion.
The extra 30 minutes are cut into the film so it will be a new version. But due to the length of the movie being about 3 1/2 hrs with the extra scenes and the DTS and dolby soundtracks the film has to be split over 2 discs.
HTH
"branched into the film" - yes, they will be incorporated into the film, but the only thing is you won`t be able to select NOT to have them - i..e no branching as such. Shame - wish more DVDs did do this....
RE: lord of the rings any info?
Is the DTS track on this gonna be full bit rate or not?
Cheers
Urban
Yep it looks like it`s gonna be a good one to buy. You also get two more discs worth of extras and I believe the extra special version has nice packaging and bookends plus a bonus disc but this is to be confirmed...
Shame they didn`t just release this version the first time though (coining the money as per usual.) As tempted as I was to buy the original two months ago, the wait now doesn`t seem that bad :)
Although I will be sticking with my 2-disc edition (suits me fine...loads of discs coming out before the year is over), I have to agree that branching deleted scenes into the feature - and having the choice to include them or not - is much better than having them, timecodes and all, on the bonus disc.
well, what I would like to know is whether or not the UK version will have the cool packaging the US version will have, or whether it have the horrendous 4 disc case some of the Blade 2 DVDs came in! I hate that cheap packaging, I want the gorgeous fold out version the Americans are getting....
