LG3350 & Gladiator disc 2

NealH (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 20th December 2000, 17:24

Amazon`s Gladiator DVD page states that LG owners have reported the Gladiator disc 2 problem. Is this true? Is this the case for the LG3350?

Anybody with an LG3350 play this disc fine?

And is it `an` LG3350 or `a` LG3350?

And what`s Swedish for `rocks`? (I`m not Swedish, but the question just popped into my head).

Haven`t heared of the 3350 having trouble with The Gladiator, maybe it`s the 3200?

BTW a rock should be "klippa"

Is it AN or is it A.

Depends on your pronunciation. LG stands for "Lucky Goldstar" which was the name Goldstar changed to before abbreviating it to LG.

However, I`d be surprised to hear of 3360 owners having trouble with Gladiator Disc 2 as it plays fine on the Aiwa.

Troll? Any comments?

AIWA 370 (officially) KLIPPAS! (rofl)

Got an LG3200, and found no problems with Gladiator Disc 2.

All`s fine here on the 3350 front, must be old models.

Don`t listen to Jimbo, LG stands for "Laser God" - unbelievers kneel before his glory!

AIWA 370 (bunch of) KIPPERS? (rofluhfo)

No probs on either my LG3350 ( LG means Little Gem ) or my Aiwa except that the LG can carry on from where it was stoped last and the Aiwa has not got that function

He means "Little Girlie" player of course duke! ROFL!!

Anyways...seriously, Troll, the Aiwa HAS the dolby board section, and even the blank slots for the Phono connectors!!!!

Feeling brave?
Fancy taking your LG to bits like I just did with the Aiwa?
(I`m looking for the macro pin...might be on a winner here)
If you ARE that brave, can you mail me pics of the rear Dolby section, top and bottom of board please?

And I COULD add the 2nd scart believe it or not!! the space is right there on the board!?!?!?!?

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but I think you are missing a few components ;-). In particular if you compare our pictures of the insides, there is a section between the decoder daughterboard and the disc loader which on the LG has an IC and a stack of capacitors etc.

I doubt its worth pursuing Jimbo, even if you can get hold of all the right components and fit them without turning you Aiwa into scrap, you will still have the firmware to sort out.

The 2nd SCART would probably be a bit easier, although you would have to take a tin-opener to the back of your player.
