Donnie Darko and Memento

I have never seen them, and don`t know nothing about them. I only heard a few good reviews via word of mouth. So did I buy 2 good films, or they not so good?

Memento is fantastic. Quite a head scratcher. As soon as you`ve watched it, you`ll want to watch it again and things make more sense. There`s still quite some debate even now as to who really `done it`...

I`ve got Donnie Darko on order. I too know nothing about it and have gone on recommendations from here.

Did you get them of the `net region 1??

Two great films that leave you thinking after the end credits!

Hmmm. I wouldn`t get your hopes up too much about Memento. I heard from various friends that it was fantastic and like no other film. I got the DVD a few months ago and was sadly disappointed.
Yes the narrative structure is unique and interesting but the actual story left me cold. I wanted it to be much better than it actually turned out to be and the ending (or should that be the start) was very un-exciting.
Not a film I`ll be rushing to watch again I`m afraid.

Memento is excellent (I gave it a 9 for content), a real head-scratcher and slickly made film.

As for Donnie Darko - I have not seen it, but put it this way: Total Film gave it five stars, rated it #1 film of 2002, and 90% of other reviewers have said more or less the same.

both excellent films (I believe the r1 release of Memento has an option to play the chapters in chronological order but if you didn`t like it backwards I can`t imagine you liking it forwards). Whether you`ll like them depends on what films you like, as a fan of lynch, gilliam and other weird and clever directors they`re right up my street but i can imagine fans of more mainstream material; disliking them for being confusing

they are both region 1 and got em from Play.com

They are both being packed and so hopefully being shipped off this week

As long as Donnie isn`t going to be another hyped filled crap like Blair Witch then it should be cool.
