RE: Paranormal Activity 2 trailer.

The first half of the trailer is basically the 2 end scenes of the first film, and just one scene of a woman coming out of a bathroom is only from the second film, nothing else.

It`s more of a teaser than a full theatrical trailer.

Paranormal Activity 2 trailer.

According to Melon Farmers, Cinemark which is a cinema chain in America has pulled this trailer from several of its cinemas after audiences complained it was too scary.

Genuine, or marketing ploy?

RE: Dr Who film rumour.. someone please quash this!

You think that`s bad according to IMDB

Meryl Streep, is set to play Margaret Thatcher in a biopic for Pathe and the BBC. Jim Broadbent is in talks to play Maggie`s husband Denis.

Oooo in retro fitted 3D as well.

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

Yes but you need something to trigger off that paradox.

I refer you to Robert Heinlein`s classic 1941 sci fi short story By His Bootstraps.

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

It was a prison he was trapped inside, he gave no sonic screwdriver to anyone before the all the baddies locked him up in order to save the universe.

The Doctor gave the sonic screwdriver after he got out and give to Rory. He would have to have escaped the first time in order for the following events to have happened.

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

How did the Doctor get out of Pandorica in the first place, when he first made the time leap back and forth through time?

RE: Top 5 most frightening films of all time.

Quote:
STOP!

It`s in the Daily Mail.

The actual article where Professor Joanne Cantor gave his findings was from BBC Focus.

floyd

Top 5 most frightening films of all time.

From Melon Farmers.

Quote:
Terrifying films can leave viewers with life-long fears, says an academic.

Professor Joanne Cantor questioned hundreds of adults and found that women who have seen Psycho are often frightened to go into the shower, while the threat-laden soundtrack of Jaws can make men tremble.

It, the 1986 film based on a Stephen King novel, shows a clown attacking children in the bathroom, after coming in through the toilet or shower drain.

Professor Cantor, of Wisconsin University in the U.S., told BBC Focus magazine: It produced extended nightmares, and many children avoided the bathroom after that. For many of these children, fear of clowns extended into adulthood.

The professor found the five most frightening films, not ranked in order, were:

•Jaws
•Psycho
•It
•A Nightmare on Elm Street
•Poltergeist.

In Psycho, Alfred Hitchcock injected terror into the most benign of places - the shower. The professor, a world expert on the psychology of films, said: Hitchcock took a normal activity that most people do daily and infused it with terror, by showing a totally unanticipated attack in blood horror accompanied by intense music. Many women in my studies who saw that movie are uncomfortable in the shower to this day.

The 1984 slasher movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street, resulted in many sleepless nights, said professor Cantor. This film provided the quintessential recipe for insomnia because the bloodthirsty villain, Freddy Krueger, could only attack you in your dreams, she said. So your only defence against him was to stay awake - and that`s what many reported doing.

RE: The Beyond

I`ve bought Triangle for a fiver from Asda, I`m looking forward to that.

Have you seen Heartless? I thought it was alright, a bit predictable in places, but I felt that it was overhyped by Kermode, so I was expecting a totally original fantastic horror film, but it was another faust inspired story,

RE: The Beyond

Yes I am, it`s great website. There`s quite a few Arrow films that I want, as I`ve got most of Shameless ones on either Blue Underground or Anchor Bay.

I still have quite a few Shameless dvds, including the limited edition Bronx Warriors box set, but sometimes I opt for R1 because the Shameless artwork are sometimes pants, but thankfully some of them have reversable artwork.

Have you seen Argento`s Giallo yet? What did you think of it? I thought it was okay, not as bad what people were making it out to be.

I think if it was made 70s it would have fitted well with the genre of the time, but because it was made now you would of thought he would have done something new to the genre, turn the genre on it`s head, like Craven did with the slasher genre when he made Scream, or in fact his own sequel to his original Elm Street flick.

What sort of film did you picture them two starring in when you was a lad? ;)

RE: The Beyond

It`s a great film, and deserves a huge dvd/blu ray special edition make over.

Have you seen The Exorcist Blu Ray book? How cool does that look?

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

Does anyone think the images of the previous doctors have anything to do with either the final episode or a future story arc? I can`t remember previous doctors feature so prominantly in previous RTD episodes.

Is River the Doctor`s future wife and will have a child or perhaps more? The reason I say this is Hartnell`s doctor had a grand daughter called Susan Foreman, could Matt Smith`s 11th Doctor actually be Hartnell`s younger self?

Could it all go full circle due to the unravelling of space and time that could rewind the Doctor`s regeneration back to 1?

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

I`m waiting for the wave of complaints from angry parents, as well as a few tabloid articles about the last episode where the Doctor kept headbutting James Corden.

RE: How the hell did Brooker pull this off?

Quote:
Stands to reason that some people will find her average or below average whilst others will think she is the most beatiful woman since Helen from a wee town called Troy

So what you`re saying is that she`ll instigate a 10 year war involving many deaths, and
end up being the most hated woman around the world?

US film fans need to be shot.

From IMDB.

U.S. film fans have called for a remake of The Goonies.

More than 20,000 film fans took part in the poll and more than 53 per cent voted for The Goonies.

Money, as well fronting 3 popular tv shoes, and a popular columnist for the Guardian. She wouldn`t have married him if he was a bog standard journalist for a games magazine.

floyd

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

I thought it was okay, but clearly they would have messed up the space time continuum, by showing how muched loved he is, as well as fighting and destroying his demon which would have changed the way he painted.

Hasn`t Richard Curtis watched Back to the Future movies, or Butterfly Effect.
