Which is your favourite 007 DVD?

RWB (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 31st December 2002, 17:19

Just started wading through the collection, reviewing each as I go, and was wondering which DVD you think is the best - meaning content, presentation and extras all have to add up.

Don`t get me started on 007, Richard. I`m a total smooth-spy nut. Bond, Matt Helm, Derek Flint, Austin Powers, Harry Tasker, Harry Palmer Xander Cage, John Steed, Modesty Blaise and Fathom Harville - I can bore you rigid on any of them.

Frankly (and keeping it short `coz I`m first-footing), the best overall presentation has been for The World Is Not Enough, with Tomorrow Never Dies running a close second (I love the isolated score). My favourite docos are the one for Licence To Kill, and the one on Moonraker. Being slightly perverse, my favourite movies are Roger Moore ones (specifically The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker and Octopussy), but honestly I don`t think there`s a single *dud* Bond movie.

I agree - while all the discs in the series are excellent, and there is no obvious weakest/strongest disc as far as I can see... if pushed I would have to go with the World is Not Enough as well. Although, that isn`t my favourite bond film overall.

So far I have gone through the first two discs in the collection (about to start Goldfinger now), and out of the first two, Dr. No was the best overall.

It would have to be between "The Spy Who Loved Me" & "Goldeneye" with maybe "Goldfinger" close behind...

Have not had the chance to see "Die Another Day". It is as bad as some people are saying? I have ordered it from Play anyway...have to wait until 19th May for that one. The disc looks quite impressive as do all the Bond discs.
