Page 1 of Anyone know how to skip straight to the DD/DTS demo thing on a DVD???

Right -

When my mates come round, i like to show off the 5.1 on my movies.

The bits are always that funky helicopter on the `DOLBY DIGITAL` intro,
the Cow on monsters Inc and the DTS demo on Shaolin Soccer.

However is there anyway i can skip straight to these particular scenes without having to go through all the other pap.

I have a Technics DVD A10 multi region modded by Techtronics.

Depends on the DVD and how it is encoded, on some you might be able to, on others you made need to go through the menu etc. Look on the dvd and see what is goign on when they come up, i.e. is it part of the menu etc. If it part of the film, you could memorise the exact time that it occurs and skip straight to it if your player has the feature. It shouldn`t take long to find it anyway.

it`s usually one of the `Titles` which you can usually skip to, on my player you can search for a title, and I think Shaolin Soccer is title 3, anyway, just skip through all the titles and eventually you`ll find the DD/DTS trailers.

If you just want to show off - and why not, try a couple of sampler discs

Dolby Labs "We've got the whole world listening" has all the Dolby Digital openings plus a couple of other bits and bobs. Somebody posted a review of it in the review section.

The other you might try is "The Ultimate DVD - Gold" This has set-ups as well as various Dolby and DTS comparisons - it also shows the difference between widescreen and pan'n'scan. It's a R0 American disc - Play had copies last time I looked.
