DVDs & Films Forum
Been thinking of pre-ordering 28 Days Later and was just wondering, having not seen it, what anyone thinks of the film and is it worth buying?
Cheers

RE: Should I buy 28 Days Later?
The beginning is great, but it goes downhill from there. I didn`t like it. Go watch some Romero classics.
Ok, you people! Sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we`re not back by dawn... call the president.

I agree with Jeff, I liked it too...but many appeared not too keen.
Also agree with Richard too about the Romero advice.
I thought that it was a great movie at the cinema, but it will look alot better on the small screen because of it`s technical limitations. I have just seen a clip for the dvd release on a video that I rented last night and some of the deleted scenes look really promising. My only real regret about this film is that it really could of benefitted from having a larger budget so that the apocalypse format could of been develped further. If you`re a Romero fan like I am then I think you won`t regret purchasing the dvd as it`s got plenty of extras as well.
It scared me silly. I was getting completely sent up for how much it affected me.
It was just one of those films that pushed all the right buttons for me, and I spent most of the film hiding under my jacket. Never want to see it again ;-)
That said I thought it was quite well made...
I suppose it depends on your age. I`m 33 & thought it was watchable but I wouldnt add it to my collection. My advice is rent it 1st, then by the time you decide to buy it, it will probably be £6.99 @ Play !!
But my rating would only be 5/10
If you like Matrix style films, buy Equilibrium instead
