The Beeb shelved it in order to get the spooks series 1 set out whilst there was he hype around series 2 on tv. They have yet to reschedule it`s release. Play still list it, but with release date T.B.A.

I just got an e-mail from a friend that works at BBC worldwide (who handles all DVD and video releases) and basically, no-one there has heard of it. Play and other such websites appear to have fallen foul of a hoax rearding the series.

Quote:
JC is only available on VHS. Should a DVD compilation as comprehensive as this ever be released, containing all episodes as well as additional features, it would be well in excess of £70

..that`s that bubble burst then......

Sorry, but it is not a hoax at all, as it was on the bbc shop website for ages, and that is where i first saw it (http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=214&Thread=173382) I rang them up after it had dissappeared and they looked it up and told me it had been suspended indefinately, so it was on the computer system somewhere. It just so happens that play have it still listed. The RRP on Play is the price the bbc website had it on for too.

I understood the set was cancelled because the BBC still had episodes to show.Spooks is unlikely to have changed anything. The series is made by Kudos for the BBC,and the DVD is released by Contender, not the BBC.But `Creek` is well overdue on DVD,even if its just one season at a time

Hang on.. 12 hours 14 minutes? That isn`t long enough by a long shot to contain every episode so far... Methinks they have indeed re-thought the money-making potential of this series and are releasing it a season at a time

Stanz, you need to recheck your tiings! The original release that was canceled last year was only 12hours, the boxset now scheduled for feb is in fact over 22 hours - look here for details... In fact, as you can see from play, the original RRP was 39.99 rather than the 59.99 it has now gone up to - as pay still have it to pre-order for 39.99 methinks this should go in the bargin buckets thread immediately - will they honor that price when they release that the new version of the boxset is longer and more expensive??

Thanks for the heads-up there H2O(uc), i was looking at PLAY for the tiings... should that be timings?

Incidentally, I believe I stated earlier in this thread (through a contact) that the complete collection wouldn`t be available for such a low price?? Don`t wanna sound smug or anything, but...
