Page 1 of Steven Spielberg`s Duel - The real reason for the delayed release......

The reason Duel has been delayed is because it was recalled on the say so of Steven Spielberg. Not because of problems with the DVD or Spielberg being "a d*ck". The fact is that Dennis Weaver`s daughter-in-law was knocked over and killed in an incident last month. Maybe there were delays before that, but right now, this is the real reason.

Now I am guessing that there are going to be a lot of people out there who don`t really care that this happened, because they just want the DVD, but I personally believe that Spielberg did the right thing. It`s just unfortunate that the recall was a bit late and some copies got through, some of which are now selling for over £100 on the internet.

I am led to believe that it is finally going to be released next April, but don`t quote me on that. However, I do know that there are no changes being made to the content. It will be the same as the few that have already been shipped. In other words, don`t be one of the fools that are paying stupid money for a copy of it.

Ah, interesting this. I thought when some announced they owned copies it meant the disc had been released - didn`t realise some got through, and others failed to. Thanks for the info.

Why do we have to wait until April? The title`s ready for release so why not release it in a month`s time? I can understand delaying it but people unaware of this story will just get more and more frustrtaed at the lack of info or a release date.

We have to wait until next April because Spielberg obviously feels that some significant time should pass before it is released and I for one agree with this reasoning. Losing someone close to you like Dennis Weaver has affects you greatly and you should be allowed to mourn without someone coming along and putting their foot in it like this release would undoubtedly do.

Not to sound insensitive but is a 6 month delay for this reason really neccesary?
