Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures
Where can I get hold of Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures.I have all the films and would really like to get my hands on this documentary without buying the boxset.
RE: Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures
What Kubrick films can you recommend to me to get on DVD? Shock horror, but I haven`t seen any of his (unless A.I. counts!) films.

RE: Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures
my opinion - very over-rated director making quite dull films. Clockwork Orange only gained cult status after it was banned. Sure-fire way of making a film more popular than any marketing dept could dream of.

It isn`t sold separately, so you should probably check out ebay and its ilk, I saw a cheap video copy and an over-priced and highly in-demand American DVD. If you fancy a more in-depth overview of his films (and not odious gossiping) I`d recommend Vincent LoBrutto`s `Stanley Kubrick` as the best around. There`s also a book of his collated interviews (pre-dating `Eyes Wide Shut`) edited by Gene Philips, that is excellent, although I`m not sure if it`s been published in the UK.
As for Kubrick films to start with, `2001` is obviously indispensable, `Dr. Strangelove`, `The Killing` and `The Shining` are thoroughly enjoyable and `Barry Lyndon` is a completely under-appreciated masterpiece.

RE: Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures
Paths of Glory is one of the best ever war films in my opinion. A Clockwork Orange, by the way, was not banned, I believe Kubrick himself took the decision to withdraw it in the UK after his family were threatened.

The Doc is available in France, I got mine from the HMV in Paris. It was about 14 euros.

If you look hard enough you can indeed pick up this disc without buying the box set.
I saw a copy in the window of CHEAPO,CHEAPO RECORDS in Soho,London only a few weeks ago,I think they only wanted about £6 too
It`s worth checking this out if you live in or around London.
