Lord Of The Rings 1 & 2 - Special Extended 4-Disc DVD Sets

With both the Lord of the Rings films on Regions 1 or 2, do the special extended 4-Disc sets have the same special features as they do on the 2-Disc special edition sets.

They are completely independant. There was a thread about this not so long ago, do a search.

There is no repetition between the two, so you could own both and justify them (especially if you`re Chewie, as the `editing differences` is a major turn-on to get both). :-D

It doesn`t work, does it? The excuse I mean, to help explain why I can`t wait for the Extended Editions :p ;)

Although the editing thing is true, especially when comparing the two versions of The Two Towers :D

I think I`ll probably get all the theatrical cuts of the film after Return of the King is released. I`m hoping there`ll be a boxset for them all, so that`s why I`m holding out.

I`ve got the Extended Editions but can`t bare having to watch through the sloooowness of Two Towers everytime I want to see the film. 8)

What I meant to say is that I think the Extended Edition of TTT is much better than the Theatrical Cut. I`ll never watch the TC of TTT again because it has too many faults, including a slow patch in the middle (which is corrected in the EE). I think both EE have a much better pace because there are no drastic cuts, something which Return Of The King has an abundance of... you can tell there is literally a ton of footage missing, and most of it should have been there because it leaves huge gaps in the continuity. But it will be fixed in the Extended Edition 8)

U`re not wrong. The defgeat of Saurman (excuse the spelling, I`m a lot drunk), the suicidal battle and a few parts that friends who have read the book say were filmed but not included. The FOTR EE I thought was a bit slow, but the TT EE was fantastic. I can`t wait for TROTK EE.

Excuse me whilst I pass out.

I`m not denying that the pacing is better than Two Towers; and indeed I prefer the longer cut - but I`m not always going to want to watch the Extended Edition, just because of the length of the film. For me, the Fellowship EE is astoundingly better than the Theatrical Cut.
