I want to buy the uncut NINJA SCROLL dvd, but which one is it?
The R2 version is 94 min long.
The R4 version is 94 min long. (I don’t know if this is uncut but it’s the cheapest).
The R1 version is only 90 min long. (Which should be uncut).
So what’s going on with this dvd?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Dont know about the cuts but r1 movis are generally 4 mins longer than r2 releases even if the films are identical.

shadowrun,
I own the R1 version which is the uncut one. However the R2/R4 version only have about 2-3 minor cuts (I think a couple of ninja star shots and the rape scene maybe?) so there isn`t much difference but if you really want the uncut one then go for the R1 version - as usual!

As I understand it, the way PAL ad NTSC are encoded makes these time differences apparent. Something to do with the FPS of the different formats and having to compensate for that in the transfer to different regions. I read it in an official DVD FAQ once..dunno where from though..sorry.

Yep, PAL runs at 25fps and NTSC runs at 30fps. So there will be a time difference on identical films in the two different formats. However in the case of Ninja Scroll the R2/R4 is slightly cut.

Thanks guys.
I think I’ll go for the R1 version.

Just a quick question, where did you get your R1 Ninja scroll dvd, (i.e. Amazom.com).
Thanks mate.
Yeah Amazon.com (I had a coupon that needed using ;-).
