Page 1 of THE SHIELD vs 24

Hi Guys

Just wanted your guys opinion. Which do you prefer? The Shield or 24? Which one out of the two do you think is the better show? Is there any indication online from ratings or other sources which one is the more popular of the two shows?

24.... but then I haven`t seen The Shield so I don`t really know.

Hi Bud if you get the chance I`d really reccommend you see atleast the pilot episode and reserve judgement until then. Any thoughts from others?

As far as drama goes, The Shield, each and every time. 24 bores me, but watching Vic Mackey sweat and give some bad guy/good guy a beating is class. It`s such an excellent series and consistent too, i.e. it`s not dull/boring/repetitive... I like it. :D

I like 24, but it will always be The Shield for me.

It has to be 24 for me although I love the Shield. Both excellent shows. :)

the other 24 thread will tell you how I feel about 24, yesterday I saw my 1st "The Shield" Ep1 of this season(3), am now hooked and will rent or dl 1st 2 seasons to try and work out what is going on ;)

I had heard how good it was, but was surprised, on strength of 1 episode may well beat NYPD Blue as my fave cop show now, and craps all over 24 from a massive height IMHO!

as for what other ppl thing www.tvtome.com often gives viewing figures, comparisons, and interesting facts if the drop off from 1 series to another was dramatic or not.

e.g. I think ep 1 series 3 24 had really good viewing figures, ep2 had good figures, but the % drop off suggested a lot of those who had tuned in for ep1 didn`t carry on watching it, wish I had done the same ;)

The Shield every time. For the continuous story lines and the way it`s filmed, it beats 24 every time.

Series 1 and 2 are addictive. But series 3 has had elements of "shocking for the sake of being shocking" ...

Watch both of these from the start. Got half way through season one of The Shield and got bored with it. Now half way through watching season 3 of 24 and starting to get bored with that so 24 wins.
And Jefferson Haliday is spot on about Homicide:Life on the Street.
