Monty Python Re-re-re-releases

Dickieboy (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 13th July 2004, 14:43

I was in Tesco the other day and noticed that The Monty Python films have been re-released yet again.
They have got new packaging and now include a film cell from each film.
Does anyone know if these are the only changes, as the Life of Brian didn`t list commentry as an extra but I`m sure one of the previous versions had it included (maybe R1).
I want to get all the Monty Python films on DVD but they are forever releasing `new` versions and now I don`t know what`s different from the last `new` version.
Can anybody help?

The only changes are in the packaging - it`s a pain, as the special editions of both Life of Brian & Holy Grail were released a year ago. The R2 version of Life of Brian has never had a commentary (some legal problem), but does have the very good Pythons documentary made by the BBC during the filming. If you`re only bothered about the films, I`d go for the special editions released last year, along with the excellent new version of Meaning of Life.

Yes you are spot on they are exactly the same dvd`s ... pick up the older special editions of each disc + save yourself loads of money .... :D
