RE: Dixie Chicks
I think it`s great that Natalie Maines has never apologised for the comments she made, as she felt they were totally justified. I believe that`s what `Not ready to make nice` is about. Couldn`t agree more about the music - Lullaby on the latest album is the best thing they`ve ever done IMO.
I`m also really keen to see the documentary `Shut up and Sing` about the whole scandal.

RE: Last Top of The Pops tonight, will i shed a tear? NOPE!

Remember they said Dr Who was never coming back but it came back with a vengence. I wonder if someone with a few ounces of the grey matter can perhaps put it on with a more family feel say once a month, in the future
Couldn`t agree more - I reckon it will return in a few years. The problem is that the BBC decided a few years ago to bury it in the 7:30 slot against Corrie (exactly what they did with Dr Who funnily enough). It would help if they weren`t so reliant on the 30 minutes running time. I remember in the early 80`s before EastEnders it would run for up to 50 minutes if acts were available to perform live.
It`s a shame that it`s gone out with such a whimper - for a show that`s run for over 40 years, a primetime slot on BBC1 should have a been sorted.
RE: The Doctor is back at last!
It shows how much love they have for Billie to give her that send off - fantastic.

Slightly concerned about Catherine Tate though.
I think the Christmas special will be a light hearted affair - hopefully on Christmas Day night again, so Catherine Tate should be OK. She is pretty versatile and she`ll probably only be in that one episode anyway.

RE: YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! The ultimate news we`ve all been waiting for!!!
If you love Bender, go to www.youtube.com for `a terrifying message from Al Gore` - hilarious.
RE: The Doctor is back at last!
I love the way that this series finale is mirroring last year`s, with a follow up to an earlier story. I do agree that the ending everyone is expecting does not seem a little obvious and he certainly wasn`t giving anything away on last night`s confidential. Hope this links in with the start of Torchwood later this year.
RE: Aaron Spelling dead at 83
I love the way he described his programmes ...
`mind candy for the masses` :)
There are nothing but nice things said about him in the article I read today - he saved Joan Collins career and always credited her with making Dynasty such the success it was. I recently enjoyed the show that`ll now be his swansong - Wanted.
RIP
RE: Family Guy: Stewie Griffin Untold Story £4.99 delivered
I picked this up for a fiver a few weeks ago. Just as funny as the series (it`s essentially a three parter made in between seasons), it`s very much a Stewie/Brian episode and is a lot ruder than the tv series :D
RE: Snowing
started in York about an hour ago - not settling yet though :(
RE: Recording programmes without Ads with Sky+?
Bit geeky this one, but ...
the bookmarking feature on Sky+ is very handy for cutting out breaks. When you recorded something, go to the planner and then define times when you think there are ad breaks - easier than you think, as they`re usually around 10 past, half hour and 10 to the hour. Press select and then skip to the beginning of the next part and bookmark it using the red button. When you come to view the programme, at the end of each part press pause then the green button and select - it then skips the ad break completely.
RE: Two Pints of Lager
I`m pretty sure it`s now finished, as Sheridan Smith is in a new sitcom with Rob Rouse called Grown Ups on BBC3 soon.
RE: X Factor, what a fiddle!!! Aaargh!!!
I felt for the Conways this week - Sharon was so busy moaning about Maria going out last week that she didn`t have the decency to comment about their performance. Good old Ben on the Xtra show rectified this and she throught they were pretty good. As for Chico, Simon summed it up perfectly - horribly fantastic.
RE: Free Potty traing DVD
We got this a while ago as our 2 year old boy is potty training. It`s a 10 minute film, which does unsurprisingly promote huggies in the middle. However it`s full of useful tips and there are a couple of songs as extras which he loves.
RE: DRAYTON MANOR - ANYONE BEEN THERE? OPINIONS PLEASE!
I went for the first time last year, I`d never heard of it but I thought it was one of the best theme parks I`d been to. Very good value for money - lots of white knuckle rides and a great kiddie park where they can go on their own.
RE: live8 at Murrayfield

So thats why Mr James Brown, feels good
and at 72 as well ! It was great to see a full set from him and he was fantastic with Joss Stone on Jonathan Ross the other week. As for Live8 Edinburgh, I thought it was much better than London. Enjoyed the duets between Jamie Cullum & Natasha Beningfield and The Corrs & Bono. Plus Midge Ure`s pianist was Eddie Izzard :D
RE: LIVE 8 - So what`s your opinions?
Def Leppard ...
oh dear
RE: Babies and crying...... why?
Quote:
Routine is the thing we always found
Ditto, we have a 5 year old girl and 2 year old boy - when my son was a baby, we made sure that we`d settle him and then make sure we gave my daughter the same attention.
RE: LIVE 8 - So what`s your opinions?

Saw Midge (I think, I wasnt wearing glasses) getting very thin on top, did he play today if so where so?
Midge is playing at the gig on Wednesday - Murrayfield I believe.
I`ve been watching since about 8pm onwards (will pick up the rest tomorrow). I`m not much of a Floyd or Who fan either, but I thought both were brilliant - clever of The Who to do the songs used a themes for CSI.
Big Will`s on now. Looking forward to Linkin Park later.
RE: Its Summer, so time for another Sky Digital price rise...

However we understand that we would lose Disney if we did this With 2 kids this would be a problem. So we await the re packaging with interest
You can get Disney as a standalone channel for a fiver - we did this a while back when there wasn`t much on the film channels. Digital Spy have all the details of the new `split` packages. I think it`s a great and something Sky should have done about 2 years ago. BTW Disney is not part of the revised kids package :(
RE: Celebrities that irritate!!
Sarah Jessica Parker - for that really irritating Lux advert. It`s so bad that it`s affected my enjoyment of CSI:NY as the one who plays Stella looks a bit like her
RE: House
Quote:
Is this repeated anywhere???
Hallmark picked this up first and are quite a way into the series - the only niggle is that the version on 5 is in widescreen. Usually Hallmark shows get played in a loop, so there`s a very strong chance the whole thing will be rerun when the season ends.
RE: DVD Swapping - The selection gets better
Quote:
Missed out on Tron and Bo Selecta !
When the hell were they put on????????
The Bo` Selecta`s were mine - I only registered on Monday and they were both snapped up in minutes !
Good site though.
RE: People Like Us - Series 2
Play.com show it as `not currently available`. Hopefully with Langham`s brilliant new show The Thick of it now on BBC4, it should prompt the BBC to release it.
RE: Billy Piper Jumps Ship from Doctor Who
According to the News of the World Billie Piper will be around for the whole of series 2. She`s signed a £200,000 contract and the story reveals that the Daleks will be back !
RE: Sky+ £49 with refurbed box
Quote:
The installation guy came with the impression he was also rigging my existing box up into my bedroom, but I told him that was not needed.
You should have let him do it - you could have had a nice freeview box in the bedroom and he`d have been none the wiser. The £99 and £49 deals certainly seem to be working. I got the £99 one a couple of months ago and have found the multiroom box a lot more useful than I thought.
One thing to note is that my installer put the box on top of my DVD player - after a week of freezing and crashing, I looked at the manual. On page 4 it states that it needs good ventilation and shouldn`t be put on top of a video or DVD - I moved the DVD player and hey presto no more crashing. You`d have thought a fitter would know better !

RE: FILM FOUR FREE FOR FOUR WEEKS
I get the feeling that Film Four are struggling for subscribers - this is the 3rd time this year they`ve offered Sky customers a free for a month deal. They should make it part of the family pack.
Miami Vice/Knight Rider - FREE DVD
Today`s Daily Star has a DVD containing one episode each of Miami Vice and Knight Rider. Both are season one episodes and the Knight Rider one features K.A.R.R. Not bad for 50p.

RE: Problems with Sky reception recently?
The `digital reboot procedure` as Sky call it is to take the Viewing Card out then plug out of the mains for about a minute then plug back in and wait another minute for the box to reboot fully. When you power on it should be on channel 998. This always works for me.
RE: Best song Intro?
For me:-
Lust for Life - Iggy Pop
RE: Linkin Park & Jay-Z - Mash Up...superb!
I couldn`t agree more. I`m a big LP fan, but not Jay Z - the documentary on the DVD which comes with the CD explains how the whole thing came about and it`s not disimilar to the Reanimation project they did a couple of years ago (Hybrid Theory remixed with guests).
RE: Screw the TV polls, what`s the best music Video?
Genesis - Land of Confusion created by the Spitting Image team.
