Live Action `Transformers` movie confirmed for 2006...

Excuse me while I cream my pants. Click here.

My biggest fear is they do a "Thunderbirds" with it, and don`t respect the original fan-base and try and make a complete "kids film"... Transformers ain`t just for kiddies, I mean how many f***ing deaths were there in the original animated movie? They killed Prime for f***s sake, a fact which I still haven`t gotten over (and I don`t much like how they brought him back, or the cartoons after the film).

This has to be 1st Generation. Obviously the designs are probably going to look a lot different (but should also be recognisable), but they should pull the story from the original cartoons/comics. It goes without saying that there will be the `father and son` aspect in the movie, but it should be kept to a minimum... you don`t make a f***ing Transformers movie and ruin it with human sentimental crap.

But Tom DeSanto is one reason to be excited. He was a major player in the excellence of the two X-Men movies. He only seems to pursue something he really wants to do, so his passion coupled with his obvious success of X-Men prove that a good Transformers movie can be done, and I`m sure he respects the material. But 2006? That`s a bit early... unless a script is already written.

But I`m excited... really excited. The prospect of seeing photo-realistic CG robots battling each other against live action backgrounds is just too much to take in at the moment.

Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost :D

I went to watch the original at the movies for my 8th or 9th birthday. Instead of adverts it had a short nature film about a kingfisher. And every time my parents tried to fall asleep the would get woken up by a lazer battle!

I still watch transformers the movie a few times a year. Best. comic. book. movie. Evar.

Its just sooooooo good. Bah weep granah weep ninni bong.

I just hope that this one will even be half the film.

I hope this new Transformers movie turns out to be half as good as the classic original movie then I will be happy!
I saw the original film when I was younger and thought it was amazing. I bought it recently on DVD and the film is still as great as when I was younger.
I have high hopes for this new film and I cant wait for 2006 to see it!

I`m only missing a few copies of the TF comics (a couple of the very early ones and some towards the end when it got really poor). They should so do it on the arrival from Cybertron with just the original Autobots and Decepticons. That would rule.

Ah Secret Wars. I have every issue of SW I & II, and I can`t understand why so many people hate them. I think they produced some of the best stories of the time.

yeah, tbh i only kept on collecting them cos i had all the others, i was glad when they finally pulled the plug. i haven`t seen any of the "new" cartoons, are they any good ?

as for secret wars, the first series was brilliant :D and gave us some excellent new charactors + it was a very good way of introducing new readers to loads of new & old comic heroes (& villans) (venom went on to be a massive charactor in the spidey comics) but tbh part 2 was getting pretty bad when it ended imho. :D defo gotta read em again now tho :)

EDIT= chris, do you have the mags in the original american format or the english A4 format. & do you remember the "specials" ie quarterly mags that acompanied the main mags :) like the spiderman tie-in where the beyonder turned a city block into solid gold & spidey had to stop the kingpin getting hold of it. (i`ll take my anorack off now ) tho i know what i`d have done if i`d had that notepad ;)

Ive got bits and pieces of the first secret wars and the whole run of SW2, American format.

Secret wars 2 introduced us to the likes of...uh....Boom Boom... and a 70`s funk Beyonder. In retrospect it was pretty p*** poor.
