hi`, iv`e just bought the simpsons 4 disc box set region 1. i can play all discs on my dvd player, but when i play them on my pc discs 1,2,4, are fine,but disc 3 flags up a message,( this disc is not formatted for this region) could anyone tell me why this happens, and if it can be rectified. thank`s. solo

Well it sounds like you have the dvd drive is set to a region different than the discs but if that was the case then none of them should work.

I had a problem with my Disc 3 as it had a mark on the disc that prevented it from playing back correctly, is your disc free or marks?

yes it is. i tried it in both dvd drives, and it displays the same message.

So you can watch Discs 1, 2 and 4 through PowerDVD but not Disc 3, is that correct?

This can happen too if the disc has RCE encoding and the drive hasn`t been set to any specific region.

I kid you not, but the Sopranos, I think season 4, is RCE encoded and did exactly the above to me!
(except all 4 discs did it, but they are R2 encoded as well as R4)

Count yourself lucky that any of them play - they lock Windows Explorer up solid when I put any of them in my PC - I never even get as far as any region warning message.

I have similar problems with Series 3
